Bethesda has revaled a new trailer for Starfield's upcoming Shattered Space DLC, confirming that we'll all be reaching for our spacesuits and heading House Va'ruun later this year.
Starfield may not have had the staying power of other Bethesda franchises like Fallout or The Elder Scrolls, but there are still quite a few people itching for Bethesda to give them something new to dive into. With thousands of planets in the Settled Systems, Starfield is ready and primed for DLC, and we've known for a while that Bethesda is working on a DLC expansion called Shattered Space, going so far as to reveal a Fall release window earlier this year.
With that window fast approaching, Bethesda has used this year's Xbox Game showcase to finally show us what we'll be getting, as Shattered Space now has a new lengthy trailer we can pour over. In trailer, we also got to see more details about what we'll actually be doing in Shattered Space, where it's set, and some of the people we'll meet along the way.
Starfield's Shattered Space DLC Will Focus On House Va'ruun
For starters, it looks as though the trailer has confirmed that we'll be heading to House Va'ruun's homeworld, as was hinted at in a developer update video last month. The area that we'll be visiting looks moody, cult-like, and very purple, as players will be traversing abandoned facilities filled with gunk. The trailer's description explains that Shattered Space will include a "new planet, unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear," which is all you can really ask for.
We don't know much else about the DLC, and we still don't have a confirmed release date, but Bethesda did have another pretty big announcement to make. If you've been itching for something new to experience in Starfield, you'll be pleased to know that Creation Kit is launching for the title later today, bringing a variety of official mods to check out when the update hits later today.
On top of the new Shattered Space trailer, we got a variety of announcements from Xbox of titles coming in the next year or so, including the reveal of Doom: The Dark Ages. We also found out that Fable will be launching in 2025 in a new trailer, and Perfect Dark even reemerged to let us all know that it isn't dead and buried just yet.
