PostsYou will have the option to slice up enemies with a katana, snipe them at a distance with rifles, or even dish out some damage with futuristic particle beam weapons. Here’s where you can get particle beam weapons, and what you'll need to do to get even stronger while using these weapons.
Where To Find Particle Beam Weapons
Like all other weapons in Starfield, you will occasionally be able to loot particle beam weapons off of defeated enemies. Loot is random, so there often isn’t a guaranteed chance you’ll find these types of weapons often.
Weapons you loot from defeated enemies or your environment will have a higher likelihood of having different augments and effects to make them more powerful.
You can actually get some of the best particle beam weapons at the right vendors. There are numerous weapon sellers around the Settled Systems, but you should check out these vendors to pick up different particle beam weapons:
- Centaurion Arsenal (New Atlantis)
- Arboron (Neon)
- Neon Tactica (Neon)
- Rowland Arms (Akila City)
- Trade Authority shops (New Atlantis, Neon, Akila City, elsewhere)
Vendors and shops don't always stock the same items. You can always try waiting a day before checking out a shop again for any new weapons in stock.
If you are already on your New Game Plus playthrough, you can get some of the stronger particle beam weapons available. You can purchase the Terror Inflictor pistol and the Reflection rifle from the mysterious Starborn Trader, who you can interact with in your New Game Plus.
How To Use Particle Beam Weapons
Particle beam weapons are one of the more rare weapon types in Starfield. They deal a mix of physical and energy damage, and require the use of light fuse ammo or heavy fuse ammo. These weapons are split into three main varieties:
- Particle beam pistols (like the Novalight)
- Particle beam rifles (like the Va'Runn Inflictor)
- Particle beam shotguns (like the Big Bang)
To help make the most out of using particle beam weapons, you'll want to level up the relevant skill tree. At the advanced level of your Combat skill tree, you can find the Particle Beams skill. Here's how this skill can help you deal more damage:
