When a new expansion pack for Final Fantasy 14 comes around, you can bet that there are going to be some new jobs coming along with it. With Dawntrail, you don't only get to become a magical artist with the Pictomancer job, but a dual-wielding, agile warrior: the Viper.

Here's how to find the quest to unlock the Pictomancer job role in FFXIV.

If you want to unlock the Viper job, though, you'll need to fulfill some prerequisites and take on a certain quest. It will be worth the effort, though, as the Viper has some awesome animations, will give any non-Ninjas a use for that Scouting gear, and let you cosplay as Zidane from Final Fantasy 9.

How To Unlock Viper

The only prerequisite that you need to fulfill to become a Viper is to complete a Level 80 side quest that begins in Ul'dah.

This does mean that you'll have to have at least one combat job at Level 80.

To begin the quest, you'll need to talk to the Worried Weaver in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2).

Enter The Viper Quest Walkthrough

Once you've taken the quest, you'll be directed towards a 'So-called Viper', who can be found right next to the Weavers' Guild aethernet shard. Talk to the NPC (X:13.0, Y:12.2) to continue the quest.

After the cutscene, teleport to Camp Drybone in Eastern Thanalan and talk to Keshkwa (X:13.3, Y:23.8). After this cutscene that plays here, you'll be back in Ul'dah. Return to Keshkwa at the Weavers' Guild and speak to him to complete the quest.

Completing this short and easy quest will get you not only the Soul of the Viper, but a coffer of Item Level 515 equipment for the job and your first Viper weapons.
