There are several caves that you can go mining in, and these often have deeper levels that you can explore. Different buffs that you can grant yourself can help make these explorations less dangerous and more efficient. You can obtain buffs by consuming food or by using the Statue of the Dwarf King.

What Is The Statue Of The Dwarf King

The Statue Of The Dwarf King grants you a random selection of buffs that will make mining more efficient or much safer.

Each day, the statue will give you two buffs to choose from, and the buff you select will last until the rest of the day.

The selection of buffs listed on the statue will change the next day, and having multiple statues will not affect the type of buffs displayed for the day. Restarting the day will also not change the buffs displayed.

There are five possible buffs that can be granted by the statue:

Increased Ore From Nodes

One buff that can be obtained is an increase in the number of dropped ores from mined nodes. With this power activated, each node will drop an additional piece of ore.

This buff only increases the amount of ores dropped by a node by one. This is best paired with good daily luck, to maximize the number of ores that can possibly be dropped by a node.

Increased Chances Of Finding Geodes

Geodes can be opened at Clint's shop in order to find various ores, resources, and even artifacts. These can be found inside rocks, and the buff granted by the Statue Of The Dwarf King increases the chances that a rock contains a geode.

This does not increase the chances of finding geodes inside containers, such as the supply crates on the Beach Farm.

The buff increases the odds of finding geodes in rocks by 25 percent.

Increased Chances Of Finding Coal

This buff increases the chances of finding coal from rocks, containers, and anywhere else coal can drop. This does not increase the amount of coal created in a Charcoal Kiln. The chance of finding coal increases by three percent thanks to this buff.

This buff will further increase the likelihood of finding coal, in addition to the increased chance granted by the Prospector profession.

Increased Chances Of Spawning A Ladder Or Shaft

Ladders and shafts will allow you to access the lower floors of the mines. These can possibly appear after breaking a rock, or after defeating a monster.

The buff granted by the statue increases the odds of a way to the lower floor appearing. The odds increase by 25 percent when it comes to breaking rocks. They increase by seven percent when defeating a monster.

For a way down to appear after defeating a monster, they have to be defeated over a spot where a ladder or a shaft can appear.

Normally, a defeated monster has a 15 percent chance of spawning a way down. The buff bumps this number up to 22 percent.

This is a great buff to use if you're trying to reach the 100th floor of the Skull Cavern.

No Damage From Bombs

The last buff that the statue can grant you is the ability to negate the damage from bombs. This includes Cherry Bombs, Bombs, and Mega Bombs. This also includes explosions from explosive ammo.

This buff works both inside and outside the mines.

Buffs from different sources will not overwrite each other. That being said, you can enjoy having an increase in daily luck, buffs from a consumed dish, an ability from an equipped trinket, and a buff from the Statue Of The Dwarf King.

How To Unlock The Statue Of The Dwarf King Recipe

The Statue of The Dwarf King is a structure that you can craft. To create it, you'll first need the recipe.

The recipe for the Statue Of The Dwarf King can only be obtained by unlocking Mining Mastery in the Mastery Cave. This is a cave located in the southeast corner of Cindersap Forest.

The Mastery Cave is locked behind a door, and you'll only be able to access it once you've mastered all five skills:

Skill

How To Gain Experience

Farming

Harvest crops and take care of animals, by petting them and getting their produce, to gain farming experience.

Foraging

Pick up foraged goods and chop wood using an axe to gain foraging experience.

Fishing

Complete the fishing mini-game and catch creatures in Crab Pots to gain fishing experience.

Mining

Break rocks with a pickaxe or with bombs to gain mining experience.

Combat

Defeat enemies in order to gain combat experience.

Once you've reached level ten in every skill, you'll be able to open the door to the Mastery Cave.

Inside the Mastery Cave, you'll find five pillars, each representing mastery in different skills. You'll also find a pedestal in the center of the cave.

The pedestal will display your progress with regard to your total mastery points. You'll need to reach a tier of mastery points in order to unlock one of the skill mastery pillars.

The total number of mastery points you'll need for every tier will increase by 5,000 points for every tier that you complete.

Mastery points can be earned by performing any skill action that gives you experience points. Once you've completed a tier of mastery points, you'll receive a notification saying, "You have reached a new level of understanding...".

After receiving the notification, you'll be able to unlock one of the skill mastery pillars. You'll need to unlock Mining Mastery, which is the pillar with an image of a pickaxe on it.

In addition to the recipe for the Statue Of The Dwarf King, Mining Mastery also grants the recipe for making a Heavy Furnace, and gem nodes will start dropping twice as many gems.

How To Craft The Statue Of The Dwarf King

Once you have the recipe for it, you'll be able to craft the Statue Of The Dwarf King. For the recipe, you'll need 20 iridium bars.

To get an iridium bar, you'll need to smelt five pieces of iridium ore, along with one piece of coal. You'll need a Furnace or a Heavy Furnace to smelt your ore. Heavy Furnaces require 25 ores and three pieces of Coal for the smelting process to begin.

You can find iridium ore in iridium nodes, which spawn in the Skull Cavern and in the Volcano Dungeon. It can also be obtained by defeating Purple Slimes, Iridium Bats, Iridium Crabs, and Iridium Golems.

When you have your iridium bars ready, you'll be able to select the Statue Of The Dwarf King from your crafting menu.

To use the Statue Of The Dwarf King, you'll need to place it on the ground.

Make sure not to place your statue on a path that villagers take. This will cause it to get destroyed.
