Former Nintendo Art Lead Thinks We'll Get A Star Fox Movie

Summary
- Former Nintendo artist, Takaya Imamura, believes that a Star Fox film is likely.
- He says this is more likely than a new instalment in the F-Zero series, which he also worked on at Nintendo.
- Imamura has told Shigeru Miyamoto that he would work in a Star Fox film if it was greenlit.
We already know that Nintendo is expanding its film efforts, with a sequel to the Mario movie and a Zelda adaptation in the works. However, former Nintendo artist Takaya Imamura believes that the company will take this even further, saying that a Star Fox movie is also likely.
This comes from an interview with TheGamer, as Imamura sat down with us at Gamescom to discuss his career with Nintendo. Here, he touched on the future of the IPs that he worked on, namely F-Zero and Star Fox, and shared his belief that something will happen with the latter at some point.
Star Fox Is More Likely To Get A New "Game Or Film" Than F-Zero
"This is just my personal feeling, but I think of those two games, [Shigeru] Miyamoto has got the strongest feelings for Star Fox," he told me. “So, I think we'll see another game, film, [or] some kind of new development with the IP at some point, but I don't know when or what."
However, if it is a film, this has the artist's full support: “I’ve already spoken to Miyamoto and said if there’s going to be a film, please just give me a call because I want to be a part of that."
Imamura worked with Nintendo from 1989 to 2021. During this time, he worked on the art of numerous games, including F-Zero and Star Fox, as well as its sequels, A Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, and Donkey Kong. While he's now working on a game independent from Nintendo, Omega 6: The Triangle Stars, it certainly sounds like he hasn't ruled out working with the company again in the future.
