Resident Evil 4 Remake: 10 Hardest Achievements To Unlock

One aspect of the Resident Evil 4 remake that is definitively better than the original, is that PlayStation users can finally rejoice, as a platinum trophy can be obtained. This is great if you play on the blue brand, but don't get too excited because Resident Evil 4 remake is likely the second hardest RE Engine title in the series.

Keep in mind that Capcom could release DLC later to unlock everything in the Extra Content Shop as they did with Village. If this happens, every achievement will become much easier.
10 Never Heard It Coming
One of the few story-specific optional achievements is Never Heard It Coming, which forces you to kill a Garrador using only knives. The problem with this achievement is that if you're attempting this from a New Game on anything higher than Standard difficulty, it's simply not obtainable.
The Garrador has so much health that it'll tank all the knives until you're empty. On Standard difficulty or lower, it's very doable, only requiring about four knives to defeat. Still, due to not being possible on Hardcore, and you might start on that difficulty, you will need to grab this in New Game Plus.
9 Real Deadeye
Resident Evil 4's shooting range is one of the core side activities in the title. To get the Real Deadeye achievement, you must get an S rank in all 12 challenges. Every one is pretty short, except for the final challenge, and they're all quite tricky. Thankfully you don't need a perfect game to obtain an S rank, but it will still take quite a few tries.
For certain challenges, you need to use specific strategies. If you're stuck, you should probably use some sort of guide. The main issue with this achievement is that it's very much out of the way, and you'll likely want to do all the other stuff first. As such, this could be your final achievement to get.
8 Peerless Agent
The highest difficulty in RE4 remake is Professional. Unlike the original or even RE5, Pro difficulty doesn't increase enemy health or damage. Instead, auto-saves/checkpoints are disabled, and you must save manually at typewriters to continue where you left off.
This makes things harder, but Professional adds more typewriters in the game world. Timing on knife parries is also more strict.
Thankfully you can beat Pro mode on New Game Plus to get this achievement. You'll want the Infinite Rocket Launcher, which costs a hefty 2,000,000 Pesetas, but it's worth it, as it makes the game a cakewalk.
Just remember to keep a few other weapons, as hitting a Rocket near Ashley will kill her. This whole process would be great if this was the only time you need to beat Professional, but sadly, that isn't the case.
7 Gun Fanatic
Obtaining every weapon in RE4 remake can be a strenuous process. The issue here is the bonus unlockable weapons, as getting all the standard ones is quite simple.
To get the Primal Knife, you must destroy all 16 Clockwork Castellans, which can be tricky to do without using a guide. To get the Chicago Sweeper, you need to beat Professional mode in under seven hours to get an A rank.

This is especially useful for later achievements. Finally, the real ball breaker is getting the Handcannon, which forces you to beat Pro difficulty from a New Game without using any bonus weapons.
You'll have to beat Pro mode, legit this time, and it's grueling. You can use special charms and costumes/accessories with perks, however.
6 Capacity Compliance
This is the hardest story-related missable achievement in the game. Near the end of Chapter 12, you'll ride a lift to the top of the clock tower. If just one enemy drops on the lift, it will stop and void the Capacity Compliance achievement. You must reach the top with no interruptions.
This will take a lot of tries, as you'll need to memorize the locations of cultists that'll try to drop. Not to mention that doing this on a New Game could also be difficult if you don't have enough ammo to deal with everything. This is one achievement where you'll be happy when it's over and done with.
5 S+ Rank Investigator
A few achievements in this game are tied to getting the highest rank. Thankfully, you don't need to S+ rank Professional to get your platinum or 1,000 gamerscore. You will, however, have to S+ rank Hardcore mode.
To do this, you must beat Hardcore from a New Game in under five and a half hours. Even with unlockable weapons, this is a pain.
Both the Chicago Sweeper and Handcannon don't offer infinite ammo right away, and you must get the exclusive upgrade for it. When you get to the castle, you should have enough spinels to buy the exclusive upgrade ticket if you did a lot of the Merchant requests.
You'll still have to play the whole village section with no infinite ammo gun. Make sure to equip the best charms and costumes, as you'll need that edge here.
4 Mission Accomplished S+
Not only do you have to S+ rank Hardcore mode, but also Standard difficulty as well. Now, you'll probably think that the achievements will stack here, and getting the S+ rank achievement on Hardcore, will also unlock the one for Standard. That is not the case here.
Considering most will try to S+ rank Hardcore first, this is simply a waste of time. You can try to get some of the restrictive playthrough achievements in this run, but those are best saved for Assisted mode.
After you've already S+ ranked Hardcore, doing another playthrough for this is just unnecessary and adds to the bloat of this completion process.
3 Silent Stranger
There are three big restrictive playthrough achievements in RE4 remake, and the first one is Silent Stranger. This requires you to beat the game without talking to the merchant.
This is easier than it sounds due to New Game Plus. At the end of a New Game Plus playthrough, you'll want to finalize your inventory with tons of health and broken guns.

You'll be set for this achievement when starting your next New Game Plus run. The only issues are that it requires some prep work, as you'll need money for that pricey Infinite Rocket Launcher. Make sure to maximize your treasures.
2 Frugalist
The second most challenging achievement in this type is Frugalist, which will have you beat the entire game without using any healing items. You will want to do this on Assisted mode, as you can regenerate some health when near death.
When completing the story, the game never fully refills your health, so your one life bar is what you get for the whole title. You want to ensure you take essentially no hits at all or very few.
Assisted mode's low-health mechanic only recovers when out of combat, so it won't save you if you're at low health near the end with waves of enemies.
1 Minimalist
By far, the hardest achievement in this type is Minimalist. You must beat the whole game using only knives and handguns to get this. Even with a maxed-out Red9 and Primal Knife, it's still tough, particularly because you could simply run out of ammo and be screwed.
The best route to do this is by playing on New Game Plus on Assisted with the best charm and costume perks.
At the end of your previous New Game Plus run, get as much handgun ammo as you can, and when doing the Minimalist playthrough, run past many of the optional enemies. This makes the other restrictive achievements harder to get in one single run, but it is easier to do them all separately.
