Palia is filled to the brim with quests. In addition to settling in and getting to know the residents around you, there are also some quests that unlock through exploration. Whale of a Tale is one of these quests, which unlocks after fishing up a little Bone Fragment.

In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to complete Whale of a Tale. Overall, this quest can go by quickly, but certain elements may depend on luck. Now, let's quickly go over how you can find and accept this quest for the first time.

How To Accept Whale Of A Tale

To accept this quest, you will need to head to Bahari Bay. This is to the east of Klima Valley, with the entrance being right above Whispering Banks.

Once in Bahari Bay, take a look at the map. The entire eastern shore is made of beaches; this is where you need to be! Just head east until you reach Beachcomber Cove, and start fishing.

You can fish anywhere along the shore, but just be sure to stick to the ocean, and not lakes/ponds.

This may take a while, but eventually, you will fish a chest that has a Bone Fragment inside. Doing so will trigger the quest 'No Bones About It', which leads directly into Whale of a Tale.

Taking The Bone Fragment To Jina

The first (and only) step of No Bones About It is to find Jina. She can be found within Klima Valley, with her icon showing on the map. Set this NPC as a waypoint, and then make your way to her.

After speaking with Jina, she will tell you that there are probably more fragments out there, and task you with finding more. Once you speak to Jina, Whale of a Tale will begin.

To complete this quest, you will need to head back to Bahari Bay, fish up a total of four more fragments, and then return to Jina again.

How To Fish For Bone Fragments

Unfortunately, there is no shortcut to fishing for Bone Fragments. You will need to head back to Bahari Bay, preferably in the same spot where you found the first fragment. This doesn't require any bait, so you don't have to worry about wasting your resources.

We suggest finding an open area of the ocean and casting your line in several places within it. Depending on your luck, the time it takes to find all four will vary. Just remember to stick to the ocean, and you will eventually find all four fragments.

Reward For Completing Whale Of A Tale

With all four Bone Fragments in hand, return to Jina once again. As a reward, you will receive 25 Renown, and Jina will send you a Sketch of a Whalein the mail, which can be used as a decoration.
