Mod Which Aimed To Bring Morrowind, Oblivion, And Skyrim To Starfield Already Cancelled

Summary
- Only three days after it was first announced, Project Tamriel has been cancelled.
- This ambitious community-led mod aimed to bring the entirety of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to a singular Starfield planet.
- The project lead blames the community's lack of support for its immediate cancellation.
A few days ago, fans announced plans to bring the entirety of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to a single Starfield planet in what would have been the most ambitious modding project in Bethesda history. However, the dream didn't last long as the project has already been cancelled.
As reported by VG247, Project Tamriel was supposedly scrapped due to a lack of support from fans, as many were quick to point out that the scope of this mod is completely unrealistic.
Porting three games to an updated version of the Creation Engine would essentially mean taking on the work of Skyblivion and Skywind and then some. Those two fan-made remakes alone have been in development for over a decade—Project Tamriel would have been a colossal undertaking requiring an enormous team of hobbyists ready to spend decades on this vision. And by the time they were done, they'd have to reckon with the entire thing being horribly out of date.
"After sharing the initial concept with the community, it became clear that the support we were hoping for just wasn't there," explained project lead New-Star-340. "Many fans voiced concerns and indicated that they were not interested in seeing this project come to fruition.
"In terms of the team, we were a small group of passionate modders excited about the possibilities. However, the feedback we received made us realise that the excitement we felt wasn't shared by the broader community.

"This has been a disappointing turn of events for me and the team. We had high hopes and were driven by a vision of creating something truly unique within the Starfield universe. While this particular project won't continue, we hope that our experience inspires others in the modding community to pursue their ambitious ideas.
"If another team is interested in picking up where we left off, we would certainly support their efforts. For now, though, my team and I don't feel it's worth pursuing".
Project Tamriel Claims The Announcement Wasn't Satire Or Bait
A big assumption from a lot of fans was that the initial announcement was just a hoax to drum up hype, and when it went as viral as it did, the poster would run off into the sunset. Outside of Reddit, contact details were next to non-existent, and the usual dedicated community spaces for projects of this size were notably lacking.
The name itself isn't even original—Project Tamriel is a Morrowind mod very similar to Beyond Skyrim. New-Star-340 says that they were "not aware" of this mod and were considering changing the name, but now that it's cancelled, the point is "moot".
Typically, modding projects of this scope have a Discord server and other social channels. Showing off progress and inviting team members and fans to chat is vital to keeping people motivated and interested, helping bring in new volunteers while holding steady momentum. Despite these red flags, New-Star-340 insists that the project was genuine.
"We were truly excited about the potential of combining these beloved game worlds into one epic experience," New-Star-340 claims. "However, given the community's reaction, we had to make the tough decision to halt development."
