Pokemon Go is debuting a brand-new in-game event, Weather Week, putting a focus on your local weather conditions throughout the event. During Weather Week's duration, your current weather will play a part when it comes to the Pokemon you'll encounters, on top of several static bonuses and features that will be active regardless of the weather.

Despite the name of this event, Weather Week will only be active for five days, taking place from Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10am local time to Monday, March 18, 2024, at 8pm local time. Read on for all the information regarding this Pokemon Go event making its debut!

Event Bonuses

For Weather Week, there will be three active bonuses available to all players. These three bonuses include:

  • Higher odds of encountering Shiny Castform.
  • Earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokemon.
  • Earn extra Stardust for catching Pokemon with a weather boost.

Pokemon will have a weather boost depending on their specific type and the current weather you are experiencing locally.

If a Pokemon has a weather boost, there will be a cloud symbol next to their name on the encounter screen.

Event Wild Encounter Pokemon

As with any Pokemon Go event, there will be a change in the Pokemon that you encounter in the wild. That being said, this event will heavily depend on the weather that you're experiencing locally, with some Pokemon only appearing in specific weather conditions.

Event Collection Challenges

There will be Collection Challenges available to complete throughout this event, free for all players who log in and play during this event. In order to complete these Collection Challenges, you will have to catch and evolve different event-themed Pokemon, rewarding you with Stardust and an Incense.

Event Pokemon Showcases

There will be different event-themed Pokemon Showcases available to compete in at different PokeStops throughout Weather Week. Make sure to hold onto different featured Pokemon from this event, especially those that are large and heavy, giving you several options when it comes to participating in these Pokemon Showcases.
