In addition to these bonuses, a Pokemon's Shiny variation will be making their Pokemon Go debut with this event, so you won't want to miss out on this event.

Pokemon Go Debut: Shiny Oricorio
Shiny Oricorio will be appearing in Pokemon Go for the first time since the game's release, a Pokemon that has a handful of region variants. During this event, you can expect to encounter Oricorio in the wild, so make sure to log in and adventure during these three days for a chance to catch this new Shiny Pokemon.
As mentioned above, Oricorio has four different styles, Baile Style, Pom-Pom Style, Pa'u Style, and Sensu Style.
You will only encounter one of these four styles, depending on which region you are playing Pokemon Go in.
Heart Trim Furfrou Returns
Furfrou is a Pokemon that can be altered with different trims, some harder to acquire than others. This includes Furfrou's Heart Trim, a style that is typically only available during annual Valentine's Day-themed events.
During the Carnival of Love Event, you will be able to alter Furfour to acquire this trim, something that is typically unavailable for the rest of the year. In order to complete this alteration, you will need to spend 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust on a Furfrou in your Pokemon Go collection.

PostsEvent Bonuses
There will be two bonuses active during the Carnival of Love Event, both giving you the opportunity to acquire Candy XL, an extremely rare Pokemon Go resource. Both of these bonuses can be found below.
- Higher likelihood of obtaining Candy XL from walking with your Buddy Pokemon.
- Obtain two Candy XL when you evolve any Pokemon.
Additionally, there will be an extra bonus for those playing Pokemon Go in Brazil. Trainers in Brazil who log in and play during this event will benefit from double XP when catching different Pokemon.
Wild Encounter Pokemon
There will be several Valentine's Day-themed Pokemon found in the wild during the three days of this event. Make sure to play Pokemon Go during this event for a chance to encounter and catch the following Pokemon.

Paid Timed Research
You will be able to purchase an event Timed Research for the Carnival of Love, available to purchase at the Pokemon Go in-game shop for $1.00 USD. You will be rewarded for completing the different tasks within this Paid Timed Research, providing you with:
- Two Incense
- Five encounters with Spinda with a heart pattern
- Stardust
- XP
With this being Timed Research, make sure to complete all tasks for it before the Carnival of Love Event has concluded, otherwise they will expire without you being able to earn their rewards.
Field Research Task Encounters
Claim event Field Research Tasks by visiting and spinning PokeStop Photo Discs during the Carnival of Love Event. Completing some of these tasks will reward you with an encounter with an event-themed Pokemon, many of which are rare in Pokemon Go.

Event Collection Challenge
There will be an event-themed Collection Challenge available for all players to complete during the Carnival of Love Event. Catch and evolve specific event-themed Pokemon to earn Stardust, XP, and an encounter with Roserade.
Event Pokemon Showcases
There will be event Pokemon Showcases taking place at different PokeStops throughout the days of this event. Uniquely, you will be able to enter your largest Buddy Pokemon to earn points for these Pokemon Showcases, providing better rewards for those who score the most points.
The Buddy Pokemon that are eligible for these Pokemon Showcases will have to be a Great Buddy or higher.
With this in mind, try to get one of your biggest Pokemon to the level of Great Buddy prior to this event.
