Awakening in the colorful world of Palia means embracing new cultures and getting used to the surrounding environment. Meeting the people in the village will unlock new career paths, rewards, and activities you can participate in to gather resources.

The ranching update includes all new ways to spend your time, including caring for your favorite animals and collecting products from them. It takes a bit of patience and practice, but the rewards are well worth it. Here's everything you need to know to get started and build strong bonds with your farm animals, be them small Pekis or massive Ormuus!

Where To Find The Ranch

To unlock the ranch, Delilah will visit your home with news about her latest project. She'll give you access to the Barn Bell, which you can place on your property.

Interact with the bell to travel to the ranch, where you'll find barns and coops waiting for you. You can use the various stalls here to keep animals and collect products from them.

While technically part of your home, you cannot decorate the area. It's treated like a rental from Delilah.

How To Care For Animals

Animals require love and care to thrive, and the best way to do that is to check on them regularly. You can give them pets and snacks throughout the day to maintain their focus and attention meters, which will overall help them produce their corresponding goods faster.

To interact with animals, approach them and use the input to open their menu. You can use the hand icon to pet them or the bowl icon to give them food. Animals will eat crops like corn and tomatoes, along with different animal treats.

If you can't find your animal in the barn, don't worry! Check the various stalls for them since animals tend to wander.

All Animals And How To Get Them

Currently, there are four different animals you can have. Each of them requires a different amount of gold, and they have different personalities to start. As your ranching level increases, you'll unlock a wider variety of animals to raise and collect.

How To Breed Animals

Animals can be bred at the nursery down the road from the main barn. You'll need two of the same animal to make a baby animal, and they can only be bred once before a cooldown starts. Breeding animals is the best way to get new variants for free–and you can pass down traits from parent to child.

Baby animals will remain at the nursery until they become adults since it's safer for them there. Make sure to check in on them to make sure they have enough attention and food, though they won't produce any products until they're older.

If you don't have two animals to breed, you can adopt new ones at the Ranch Store for a small rehoming fee!

What To Do With Venerated Animals

When your animals age out of the viable range for producing goods, you can send them away to be rehomed. Doing so will say goodbye to the animal forever, but reward you with a bag of treats. These treats can be used to help raise new animals.

However, for extra special animals that you love, you can hold onto them. If you're lucky enough to get a Divine Doughnut from a Legendary Treat Pack, you can feed it to your favorite animal to reincarnate them as a baby and give them a second chance at life – without losing any traits!

No one is forcing you to get rid of venerated animals, but having too many animals in your care will slow down production for every animal in the barn.
