Another Little Nightmares game is on the way, with a reveal trailer dropped at Gamescom's Opening Night Live. Little Nightmares 3 will launch in 2024 and will be available on all platforms.

Publisher Bandai Namco says the sequel will feature new ways to play, including a brand new co-op mode featuring the characters, Low and Alone. Bandai Namco has only mentioned online multiplayer so far, so it's not clear if we'll be able to buddy up with couch co-op. But it will also be playable in single-player too, with the other character being controlled by AI.

Check out the reveal trailer below, giving us a good look at the third instalment in the much-loved series.

"Little Nightmares 3 follows the journey of Low and Alone, two friends looking for a way to escape The Nowhere – a whimsical and nightmarish world," says the publisher, explaining the game further after the reveal trailer. "As the two make their way through the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing and dangerous places, such as the Necropolis, they encounter signature elements that have made Little Nightmares so unique, from clever puzzles and dangerous threats to memorable creatures such as Monster Baby."

This will be the first Little Nightmares game to not be developed by the original creators, Tarsier Studios. Instead, Little Nightmares 3 will be headed by Supermassive Games, a British studio known for horror games such as The Dark Pictures Anthology series, The Quarry, and Until Dawn.

A change in the developer isn't too surprising. In early 2021, it was revealed that Tarsier Studios was pivoting to "focus on creating new IP." It's not yet clear what this will be, as it hasn't launched a game since Little Nightmares 2 in 2021. Still, it sold incredibly well, so not having another instalment was hardly an option either.

Anyone who can't wait until 2024 can tune into a podcast launched by the developers, also revealed at Gamescom. This will actually be part of the Little Nightmares story, telling a story of a girl called Noone. It will run through until September 19, and will be available on popular podcasting platforms.

Little Nightmares 3 will launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC at some point in 2024. There's no release date more specific than this, and it's not clear how long Little Nightmares 3 has been in development already.
