Kiryu is far from the only person in Sotenbori with a complicated past, with new characters like Akame and the Daidoji adding more nuance and mystery to the story. While the ending provides some closure for some of the fresh faces, it's clear that more is still to come.

All questions will focus solely on The Man Who Erased His Name and its story.

The Infinite Wealth demo unlocked after completing the game is not considered.

7 How Much Does Like A Dragon Gaiden Reference Ishin?

Given that Like A Dragon: Ishin was released in the West shortly before The Man Who Erased His Name, it's likely the developers over at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios may have been working on both titles around the same time. It seems that in some ways, Ishin served as an inspiration given the various subtle nods to it in Gaiden, from brief moments to the plots of entire substories.

Features like the Coliseum are more refined and concentrated, building on aspects that worked well – like large-scale group and team battles. Aside from the clear visual connection between Kiryu and Ryoma, their circumstances are also similar, as both men are hiding their identities during their journey.

If you enjoyed the substories where Ryoma protected animals in Ishin, RGG has more where that came from.

6 How Is Haruka Doing?

Kiryu and Haruka are a dynamic duo, appearing in close relation throughout the entire series (even in Ishin, where her younger character model is used and still named "Haruka"). However, Kiryu's path in The Man Who Erased His Name is shrouded in mystery and secrecy.

As such, he never gets to see or interact with Haruka, nor does she appear to speak outside of Kiryu's story. Certainly, this is no accident and there must be more coming in the future. For now, you'll find a few references to Kiryu's adopted daughter throughout The Man Who Erased His Name, but those will have to suffice for now.

5 How Did The Kids React To The Missing Camera?

During the main story, Kiryu witnesses a taped moment from a Daidoji surveillance camera where the children from Morning Glory are visiting his supposed grave. They know they are being watched and leave a message for Kiryu, but then the camera is removed.

However, the information ends there, and we never see how the kids react to the camera's disappearance. Clearly, they were suspicious enough to leave a message for Kiryu, so the disappearance of the surveillance device must have tipped them off, right? Were they excited? Do they know Kiryu is out there watching from afar?

Kiryu's adopted kids are observant, and it's highly unlikely they will just let that major change slide without a thought.

4 Does ANYONE Believe That Kiryu Is Dead?

Speaking of the kids at Morning Glory, there are quite a few people who run into Kiryu and recognize him, or at least think they do. The entire agreement with the Daidoji regarding Kiryu's faked death hinges on his utmost discretion and is even brought up during the story as a possible mark against Kiryu.

However, the instance in question is a single incident, but there are dozens of possible information breaches throughout The Man Who Erased His Name that make you wonder how anyone could believe Kiryu is dead. You'll even encounter Etsuko, Kiryu's stalker/pseudo-lover who almost exposes him in the middle of a busy street. With so many clear breaches, it's a miracle Kiryu isn't on the front page of newspapers everywhere.

3 Will Akame Ever Launch Her Singing Career?

After bonding with Akame a bit, she'll open up to Kiryu about her past, and her stalled singing career. Her story is incredibly touching and paints a picture of a talented woman who was taken advantage of by scam artists who preyed on her dream.

Akame is resilient and takes some tangible steps toward pursuing her career during the story, but it ultimately leads to nothing. So will Akame ever land her big break? She says she will keep going to every audition, but what will happen if or when she finally gets chosen? The Akame Network might have some unusual requests from then on, if Akame becomes a pop sensation.

2 Where Is The Real Ryuji Goda?

Throughout The Man Who Erased His Name, you'll come across rumors about the supposed return of Ryuji Goda after his disappearance years prior. After following these rumors and discovering the posers trying to profit off Ryuji's legendary reputation, you eventually run into one man who nails the look but can't quite hold a candle to the real Ryuji's strength and bravado.

The man Kiryu recruits to join his Joryu Clan in the Coliseum is known as L'il Ryuji – clearly, he's not the real Ryuji Goda. With so many other characters returning as Coliseum fighters, it's odd that Ryuji seems to be the one person who has a poser representing him. On the other hand, characters like Masaharu Kaito from Judgment appear in the flesh without any problems – so where is the real Ryuji?

1 What Is The Truth Behind The Daidoji Leaders?

The Daidoji are a faction shrouded in secrecy and unusual methods, but even with the curtain pulled back throughout The Man Who Erased His Name, there seems to be more bubbling beneath the surface. One of the most obvious examples of this is the Head Priest who lives at the temple Kiryu stays in.

It becomes clear that this man is not a monk, nor a Daidoji footsoldier, and instead admits to Kiryu that he was once the Treasurer. However, based on his interactions with the Daidoji elite and his defiance of their more callous orders, it seems that there's something more than meets the eye going on here. For now, the Daidoji hierarchy remains shrouded in mystery, just waiting to be revealed.
