PostsAdashino Village is no different, introducing the concept of enemies that can buff others but the means for you to cancel those buffs at the same time. Adashino Village is a tighter level than previous ones and it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Our guide will see you safely to the next dawn.
Recommended Set-Up For Soh And The Villagers
Villager Set-Up
In Adashino Village, you will rescue a total of nine Villagers in total. None of them are especially hard to find so you'll naturally come across them as you gather the defilements in each section.
Once you have all of them gathered up, here are the Roles we would recommend for them. As you won't get all of them until the second section, prioritise those that you need to survive, like Sumo Wrestlers and Woodcutters, until then.
- Two Woodcutters, and one Spearman for those in melee range.
- Two Archers to handle those at range and weaken those that come into melee range.
- One Sumo Wrestler to take aggro, one Ascetic to slow those enemies, and one Shaman to keep everyone healed.
- A Thief to dig up some treasures. This spot is liable to change as you need.
Keep your Roles levelled up as some of the upgrades can really increase the effectiveness of a unit beyond just stat boosts.
Musubi can always be refunded as well, so feel free to shift around your upgrades if you're struggling.
Soh Set-Up
At this point in the game, Soh will have already beaten Batsu and unlocked the ability to upgrade themselves. Alongside a healthy collection of Tsuba Guards and Mazo Talismans, you should now be able to make more specialised builds of Soh for each mission.
For Adashino Village, we're going to build a more aggressive Soh that can hold their own while also giving the Villagers enough power to hold their own.
Item
Name
Description
Tsuba Guard 1
Kochin's Ward
Creates a barrier around Soh that stops enemy attacks and damages those that touch it.
Tsuba Guard 2
Toda's Snare
Allows Soh to place up to three traps that explode when enemies touch them.
Mazo Talisman 1
Deva
Slightly raises Soh's attack power
Mazo Talisman 2
Happiness And Anger
Slightly reduces Soh's attack power while raising the Villagers' in turn.
Mazo Talisman 3
Demon Chime
Makes a sound and flashes on-screen when you are near defilement.
Dance Style
Oka Dance
Soh's default moveset focused on lower damage but high mobility attacks.
Oka Dance Upgrade
Oka Form 3
Allows the Dance Attack after the second Regular Attack to be charged, dealing high Resist Gauge depletion.
Archery Upgrade
Spider Shot
Explodes at the point of impact, slowing all enemies caught in the blast.
Combat Upgrade
Punishing Strike
Allow Soh to deal a heavy strike that deals massive damage to enemies with a depleted Resist Gauge.
This build gives Soh decent damage while still letting the Villagers put up a fight by themselves.
Kochin's Ward allows Yoshiro to be easily protected, which is especially helpful with how tight this mission can be. Meanwhile, Toda's Snare lets you put down powerful traps so you can more easily divide your attention.
Spider Shot is a great help since most enemies are huddled quite close together, giving each shot the maximum potency.
One of the optional objectives is to not dispel the enhancements on any Seethe, so having a strong build is essential for completing that objective.
Where To Find Every Defilement In Adashino Village's First Section
There are a total of seven defilements to be found in the first section of Adashino Village, and six in the second section. For the ease of your own searching, we've split this into two separate sections. Below, let's get you finding those first seven defilements.
Defilement 1-2
CloseThese defilements are found just south of the central Taiko drum with one by the top of the steps and the other at the bottom.
Defilement 3
CloseThis defilement is found at the bottom of the steps south of the central Taiko Drum. Get the Villagers to clear the rubble to reach it.
Defilement 4-5

Defilement 6
CloseThis defilement is found to the very north just at the top of the stairs.
Defilement 7
CloseThis defilement is found just north of the corrupted Torii gate.
With all seven defilements purged, return to the shrine and pick up your reward, the Esteemed Craftsman Mazo Talisman.
The Esteemed Craftsman Mazo Talisman is a massive help in most missions, so feel free to replace one of your other talismans in place of this one.

Once you've purged all the defilements, you can return to the shrine to acquire the Clairvoyance Mazo Talisman.
Tips For Completing Adashino Village
General Tips
As is true of most missions in the game, you'll want to start carving the path immediately. Time that Yoshiro is standing still is time wasted, and a higher chance of her being defeated. Even if you can't complete the Spirit Path, giving her some amount to walk is better than nothing for efficiency.
Taiko Drums are introduced in this mission to remove the enhancements cast on Seethe by the new enemy, Rosokuro. Placing a Sumo by the drums will draw them towards them, allowing you to remove these enhancements more easily.
One of the optional objectives is to remove the enhancements from ten Seethe at the same time, so the above strategy is a great help for this one.
Finally, make sure the Carpenter is always working. Just like Yoshiro, you don't want to waste a moment as the night will fall faster than you might expect. There are some very helpful contraptions to repair too that will help you survive the night.
First Section Tips
From the beginning of the mission all the way to the corrupted Torii gate in the first section, it costs a total of 541 Crystals tocarve the Spirit Path. Keep this in mind so you can plan how much of the Spirit Path you want to carve before assigning Roles.
With a Thief, you can also dig up a chest right by the entrance of the first section of this mission for some extra Crystals.
While enemies can come from very few locations in this section, many of them have a habit of splitting along both sides of large open section. Make sure to repair the barrier here and position an Ascetic here with a Woodcutter to slow any enemies' advance.
Second Section Tips
It costs a total of 464 Crystals to carve the Spirit Path from the beginning of the second section to the corrupted Torii gate. This is less than the first section and you should thankfully have more Crystals after the previous night, though there are also fewer defilements for you to gain Crystals from.
The second section is quite tight, but also very easy to place traps in. As such, place traps during the day in chokepoints with Toda's Snare to slow the advance of any enemies.
Make sure to repair the additional Taiko drum in this area for more chances and areas in which you can remove Seethe enhancements.
Another of the optional objectives in this mission is to remove enhancements from a grand total of 30 Seethe, so having as many active Taiko Drums as possible is essential.
