It seems you can't plug the leaks once they start. Game Freak is already dealing with a massive leak that has revealed tons about past and future Pokemon games; details for Nintendo Switch Online's secretive playtest are also in the wild, and now, another studio may have caught the bug.

Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios teased that a new co-op game was in development, and teased only part of the game's name. It now appears that the name of the game has been revealed by a reliable insider.

Split-Screen Co-op Might Be A Big Factor

According to reliable industry insider billbil-kun, who posted on the Deadlabs Magazine website (thanks VGC), the name of Hazelight Studios' next game will be Split Fiction, and has been in development for around two years. While no more information for the game has been revealed, billbil-kun has a great track record for insider information and leaks.

The first part of the title suggests some sort of split screen functionality. This was already teased by Hazelight in the initial tweet. Alongside the image of the script, we can see some drawings on a sticky note of what appears to be a split screen. Given that there are three renditions, perhaps we'll be able to change the orientation of how the screen is split up.

The name Split Fiction also fits with the clue that Josef Fares himself gave. After receiving a lot of questions, he gave a hint saying that the name of the game is "S*** ******N", which fits right in with billbil-kun's information.

The studio already has a successful history of split-screen co-op games, with A Way Out and It Takes Two, so there's no surprise there. But, if the dynamic split-screen angle is true, then this will be a fresh take on the concept.

As for the "Fiction" part of the title, we'll have to wait for the official reveal to figure out what it truly means. There are a few more clues hidden in the image by Hazelight, perhaps they could shed some more light on what the game is and its features.
