While the show is full of big names, including Pedro Pascal, Gabriel Luna, and Bella Ramsey, we've just got a glimpse of how things work behind the scenes from one of the show's infected extras, and it involves a week-long bootcamp and "one of the nicest dudes ever."

Infected Extra Gives A Glimpse Behind The Scenes In HBO's The Last Of Us Series

Reddit user CSchief is a self-professed fan of The Last of Us, so when the opportunity arose for them to take part in HBO's second series of the Naughty Dog franchise, they jumped, and now they've shared their story online.

CSchief's scenes included the one in which the infected run into the abandoned mine, and "a lot of the raid on Jackson," and it seemed like it involved more than just slapping on some makeup and grunting.

"We started off with a week of bootcamp training on how to be 'infected' from the likes of the incredibly talented movement coordinators Terry Notary and Madison Berg," they said. "Their way of demonstrating and teaching us how the infected move and their body behaviors was such a unique experience and an incredibly fun challenge."

After making their way to the set, where they saw "the iconic fence that Abby crawls under", the extra got to spend some time with "one of the nicest dudes ever," Gabriel Luna. Here, Luna explained why they made the changes to Dina on Patrol with Joel instead of Tommy, and they got to see Tommy flamethrower the bloater live, something they called "one of the most insane sights" they have ever witnessed.

It's a cool, albeit small glimpse behind the scenes of one of the greatest video game adaptations of all time, and it's super interesting that the extras are put through a week-long bootcamp.
