GTA Online is all we had during the 13-year-long wait for a mainline sequel. Well, that and various different re-releases of GTA 5 - and that one ill-advised re-release of the PS2 GTA trilogy. I digress; GTA Online has given us something to play for years, and even as development on GTA 6 nears its end, Rockstar is still keeping it alive.

Now, as we're mere months away from playing GTA 6, we're getting a huge new update to GTA Online. As reported by Game Rant, Rockstar has confirmed that GTA Online is getting a new heist, and we'll be able to play it next week.

New GTA Online Heist Launching On July 14

"Scope out Los Santos’ premier cultural space and pocket prized artworks in The Kortz Center Heist, coming to GTA Online on July 14," the heist's description reads. "Link up with the mysterious Mr. Faber and his chief fixer Raf De Angelis to take on a blockbuster new Heist — where you'll meticulously stake out the museum and carefully plot your approach, then snatch the Kortz Center’s most valuable exhibits."

As the description suggests, the heist is all about stealing artwork. Once you've got them, you can display them yourself as trophies.

The heist can be done solo or in teams of up to four players. Rockstar warns that having more people on your team will come in handy, so it sounds like you'll want to call your friends in.

And there's a very good reason why people will want to log back in for this. Many fans are predicting that this will be the last major update to GTA Online before the launch of GTA 6 on November 19. There won't be a revamped GTA Online alongside GTA 6 or anything like that, but it is clear that something is on the way, so we can expect updates to this version of GTA Online to slow down while everything is getting a new coat of paint.

With that said, it's been confirmed that GTA Online will still be perfectly playable after GTA 6 launches. So, you won't have to say goodbye to the beloved live service just yet.
