Fortnitemares, Fortnite's Halloween event, has made its annual return during the spooky October month. It has brought us multiple returning and new weapons to explore, along with challenges and XP quests. New POIs have been introduced, and the initial ones received a makeover to celebrate the event.

Reckless Railways has been replaced with Freaky Fields, a vast point of interest with colossal wheat fields and a place of solace for a newly introduced NPC. Scarecrow is a new, interactive item in its wheat fields that provides an exquisite hiding spot if you're caught in a crossfire or a hot pursuit.

Where To Find The Scarecrows

Head over to the Freaky Fields if you want to hide in the Scarecrows, as they are exclusively available there at the moment. Inside the wheat fields, you can locate the Scarecrows crucified on a giant board. While the fields may give you an edge, the Scarecrows give you a guaranteed hiding spot.

Freaky Fields is the new hot drop-spot since Billy the Puppet, a boss NPC, resides there. Considering you expected to meet the new boss, you might have to use Scarecrows to your advantage to hide from the majority to figure out what move you should make next.

Epic Games may roll out an update that will add the Scarecrows in the other POIs.

How To Use The Scarecrows

Like the other hiding spots, such as the dumpsters vastly spread around the whole map, you must approach a Scarecrow first. Once you approach them, you can interact with them using your F/Square/X (Default buttons), depending on your platform.

Upon successful interaction with the scarecrow, you will enter inside it and be free to move your camera around to scout. Still, similar to the other hiding spots, the scarecrow will occasionally rustle, which can be a dead giveaway of your position, immediately alarming an enemy nearby.
