Monster Train 2 has a variety of different ways to upgrade your units, from permanently stacking buffs to Merchants Of Steel, which are rooms located between battles. These come stocked with lots of unique upgrades, like Largestone, Immortalstone, or Mossystone. You'll need to spend gold to upgrade your units, and as a default, cards only have two upgrade slots - though this can be upgraded with an artifact.

PostsThis guide will cover all the available unit upgrades in the game, as well as how to get extra upgrades via Celestial Alcoves and other game events.
How To Upgrade Your Units
Units in Monster Hunter 2 are primarily upgraded via Merchants Of Steel. These are upgrade rooms located between each battle on your run.
You'll have a choice of four upgrades per shop, although you can reroll once to take a look at some other options. The four options will range from cheap to expensive, with the more impactful upgrades usually costing upwards of 100 gold.
However, you can also get upgrades from the Celestial Alcove. This is a rare upgrade room that has any number of possible events, including unit upgrade options - like Titanskin.
The room after the first battle will always have both a Merchant of Steel and a Merchant of Magic to choose from.
