Moogle Medals were limited both in quantity and usefulness in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. But like so many aspects of the sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth takes the basic idea and expands upon it substantially. The results speak for themselves, but it won't be immediately apparent to you what exactly these things do.

As it turns out, there's a lot you can exchange these trinkets for, and you'll do so at special locations in each of FF7 Rebirth's major regions. You can get some pretty snazzy stuff with Moogle Medals, and we'll tell you where to find them and what to use them on.

What Are Moogle Medals, And Where Can You Find Them?

Moogle Medals make their return from FF7 Remake, serving as a unique form of currency used at Mogstools. Mogstools are brand-new to FF7 Rebirth. You'll find one Mogstool in each of the massive open regions, and two in the case of Cosmo Canyon.

Finding Moogle Medals is pretty simple. There are hundreds of Moogle Medals scattered throughout Rebirth, primarily in destructible boxes strewn throughout the open regions. You'll find some in smaller locations as well, like dungeons and cities.

Mogstools are modeled after Mog's House, as seen in the Moogle-themed Gold Saucer minigame in the original Final Fantasy 7, kupo!

What Are Moogle Emporiums?

Moogle Emporiums are unlocked at each Mogstool after you complete a short and zany minigame wherein Cloud is tasked with capturing young mischief-making Moogles. Completing these also raises your Emporium Rank.

There are seven Emporium Ranks, one for each Mogstool. The inventory of items to trade your Moogle Medals for expands with every rank, so you should seek out Mogstools ASAP. After all, you'll likely have more Moogle Medals than you'll know what to do with either way.

The items you receive by trading in Moogle Medals vary from simple consumables to unique folio books that provide additional SP for their respective characters - a great grab no matter how you find them.

  • Ethers and similar items
  • Rare gems like Emeralds and Rubies
  • Folio books for more SP

We don't recommend shelling out for those gems unless you really need them. For as rare as FF7 Rebirth's menu claims them to be, you'll be practically swimming in them as we explore the world.
