As the Council convenes to discuss next steps, the Bruma Mages' Guild grows strangely quiet. Those who remember their recommendation journey might recall the lovely Jeanne Frisoric, head of the Bruma Guild, and her prank-loving associates. What might have happened at the guild to have caused this rowdy bunch to go stone-cold silent?

How To Begin A Plot Revealed

To trigger this quest, you must have completed all previous quests with the Arcane University:

• A Mage's Staff
• Ulterior Motives
• Vahtacen's Secret
• Necromancer's Moon
• Liberation or Apprehension?
• Information At A Price

Once these quests have been completed, you need to wait two to three days before you can speak with Archmage Traven.

When he is finally ready to give you the next quest, his dialogue will change to tell you the University is in complete disarray. Tell him you can go now to check on Jeanne Frisoric in Bruma.

Before taking this quest, you should purchase the Summon Deadra Lord spell from Volarno if you ever wish to learn it. He is the only seller of this tome and will become permanently unavailable once this quest begins. Likewise, Selene Orania will become unavailable as a vendor.

How To Find Jeanne Frisoric

Head to Bruma's Mage Guild at once. When you arrive, you'll see that you were too late. The guild is on fire and overrun with conjured, necromancy-touched enemies. Dispatch any skeletons you might find inside.

Beware, these skeletons can be a touch difficult with their numbers and the cramped quarters. We recommend casting a self-fortification spell, such as Shield or Dragonskin, before engaging in combat.

Interact with Selene Orania's corpse in the main room and Volarnaro's on the stairwell to the right. After both corpses are interacted with, continue downinto the mage's quarters.

This area is completely overrun with skeletons, so beware of being swarmed as you enter the door.

Continue through the quarters onto the other side and through the door. Once out, go upstairs to encounter the necromancer woman, Camilla Lollia.

She will attack you after declaring her victory at the guild and her master's wishes. Defeat Camilla, and J'skar the khajiit will appear in the corner.

J'skar cannot be killed for this quest, only knocked unconscious, so if you hit him, do not panic.

Talk with J'skar and ask him about the Worm. Once you've gathered all relevant information, turn to interact with Jeanne Frisoric's corpse.

With all this completed, return to the Arcane University for now.

J'skar will likely beat you to the University. However, he has nothing new to say when you arrive and still seems to believe he's at the Bruma guild.

Tell Archmage Traven what happened at Bruma, and he'll state that he will need a few days to talk with the Council.

Unlike last time, you do not need to wait several days for your next quest. However, you need to speak with old Raminus Polus to get your advancement into Wizard first.

This will grant you a special spell:

• Wizard's Fury

• Deal Fire, Frost, and Shock damage on a target all at once

With this spell in hand, you can talk to Archmage Traven for two new quests.
