Dragon's Dogma 2 boasts a sprawling map comprising two vast regions: Vermund and Battahl. Vermund itself is immense, teeming with numerous locations to explore, enemies to conquer, and quests to undertake. You'll likely find yourself engrossed in Vermund's expanse for a substantial amount of time before even considering venturing into Battahl.

PostsShould you find yourself halted at the border by a guard demanding a permit for entry into Battahl, fear not. This guide not only provides instructions on obtaining such a permit but also offers a secondary alternative route for accessing Battahl, even without one.
How To Get Battahl Permit
If you're aiming to obtain the entry permit for Battahl, you'll need to make progress in the story. In Vernworth, you'll meet Brant, who'll task you with various quests to prove yourself as the true Arisen. Your goal is to complete these quests, which include Monster Culling and Disa's Plot, until you reach the Feast of Deception quest.
Once you've completed the Feast of Deception, Brant will entrust you with the Beastren Border Entry Permit, which grants access to Battahl but only to the Beastren.
If your character is already of Beastren descent, simply head to the Checkpoint Rest Town border located in the south.
But if you're playing as a human, there's an easy workaround. At Checkpoint Rest Town, visit Ibrahim's Scrap Store slightly to the west. There, you can purchase the Beastren Mask for 8,700 G. This mask allows you to disguise yourself as a Beastren.
Equip the mask before approaching the border, then show your permit to the guard. He'll open the gate, granting you passage with your newfound disguise.
If, by chance, Brant provided you with the regular Border Entry Permit, you can skip the additional steps and proceed directly to the guard.
Simply present the permit to him, and he will grant you passage without any further complications.
Alternative Route To Get To Battahl
If you're eager to explore Battahl without the hassle of obtaining a permit, there's an alternative route you can take. Head northwest of the Checkpoint Rest Town, and you'll come across a dry river route that you can follow.
By traversing this path, you can eventually reach Battahl and bypass the borders altogether. However, be prepared for the journey ahead as the road is fraught with danger, with multiple enemy encounters along the way.
Attempting to outsmart the guards and unlock the border from the other side via this alternative route won't work.
So, while the permit may seem like a hassle, it remains the reliable option. Eventually, as you progress through the story, you'll obtain it one way or another.
