Summary

  • Although there are already a ton of Silent Hill games in the works, it looks like Konami has even more planned for the future.
  • According to a reliable horror insider, Konami is currently internally developing an unannounced Silent Hill game.
  • We don't know anything else about the game, but it seems likely that The Short Message team will be working on it.

A reliable horror insider has claimed that Konami is currently internally developing an unannounced Silent Hill game that isn't related to Silent Hill f.

Silent Hill fans haven't had very much to be excited about over the past decade, but that all changed back in 2022 when Konami suddenly announced a ton of new Silent Hill projects were in the works across multiple studios. The results so far have been very mixed (I'm looking at you, Silent Hill Ascension), but it seems that the revival has been a big success in Konami's eyes.

While it seems like there are already a lot of Silent Hill games in the works that have yet to come out like Silent Hill f and the controversial Silent Hill 2 remake, a reliable insider has suggested that Konami has even more projects in the works, including one that it's working on internally instead of handing to another studio.

Konami Is Reportedly Internally Working On Another Silent Hill

Over on Twitter, reliable horror leaker AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem) highlighted a comment made in Konami's Q1 2024 financial report that confirms that they're "committed to Silent Hill's future". According to AestheticGamer, that future includes a currently unannounced Silent Hill game that's being developed internally by Konami.

AestheticGamer didn't reveal anything else about the unrevealed Silent Hill game but, if true, it's interesting that Konami is working on it internally instead of collaborating with another studio. Ascension, f, and the Silent Hill 2 remake are all being developed in collaboration with other studios, so it seems that Konami wants to be more hands-on in the future.

The only Silent Hill game that Konami has had direct involvement with in recent years is Silent Hill: The Short Message, which received very mixed reviews from fans. It did get over three million downloads, though, so it seems likely that its success has caused Konami to be more interested in doing something with the series itself.

With that in mind, it's reasonable to assume that the team behind The Short Message might be the ones working on the Silent Hill title AestheticGamer is referring to.
