During your first hour of playing Dragon's Dogma 2, you'll encounter a Medusa that attacks the excavation site where you are being held as a prisoner. This initial encounter serves as a story catalyst, and you're not expected to defeat her at this stage, of course. However, you have a chance to encounter her again later in the game, but you'll need to find her on your own.

Medusa is a formidable enemy known for her ability to petrify your Arisen, resulting in instant death, or make your pawns disappear, leaving you with less help. Therefore, you need to be well-prepared and have a strong party combination before undertaking this task.

Where To Find Medusa

Close

In order to locate Medusa, you'll first need to reach the Battahl region and have at least a level around 50 or 60, along with a strong pawn party.

Starting from Bakbattahl, head southwest until you come across a path leading into the forest. As you approach the forest, some characters will warn you not to proceed further for your own safety. This is your cue to continue forward.

As you progress, you'll notice petrified statues along the way. Eventually, you'll spot a cave entrance to the right side, and inside, you'll encounter Medusa waiting for you.

How To Get Medusa Head

First, you need to reach the Battahl region and have a strong pawn party with levels around 50-60 to face Medusa. But first, let's find her.

Starting from Bakbattahl, go southwest until you see a path leading into the forest. Some folks will warn you to be careful, which means you're on the right track. Keep going and you'll see some petrified people along the way. Eventually, you'll spot a cave entrance on the right side. This is where you'll come face to face with Medusa herself.

Now, while it's possible to defeat Medusa in a conventional manner, if you're aiming for the prestigious "Off with Its Head!" trophy, you'll need to take a more decisive approach. Here's the strategy: Ensure your party includes a skilled Mage to keep your team healed, especially when contending with Medusa's poisonous attacks.

Be wary of her petrifying gaze, which can spell instant doom for you or your pawns. Use the available cover within the arena to evade this deadly assault.

Your primary target during the battle should be Medusa's face, but your approach will depend on your chosen vocation. If you're proficient with ranged weaponry, focus your attacks on her head from a distance. Alternatively, if you favor melee combat, exercise caution as you engage her in close quarters as she can deliver some powerful attacks.

As you near the end of the battle and Medusa's health dwindles, your key move is to ascend and reach her face. Begin a relentless assault with basic attacks, aiming directly at her vulnerable head. Be prepared for her attempts to dislodge you from your perch. Should she succeed, swiftly regain your footing and get back up, ensuring you're fully healed and have enough stamina before doing so.

While atop her head, precision becomes paramount. Deliver the final, decisive blow while grasping her in the head, resulting in the satisfying decapitation of her head. Witness the severed head as your reward, claiming it as the Withered Medusa Head.

Don't overlook the spoils left behind; loot her body to gather Granite Medusa Bone, Monster Hide, and the Medusan Spellbow.

The Medusa Head can decay rapidly if left for too long, even in the inventory, so it's important to put it in storage!

And before departing, remember to scour the rear of the chamber for an additional chest, offering further rewards for your efforts.
