Dragon Age: The Veilguard Teases More Returning Characters

Summary
- BioWare has hinted at more returning characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard than what has been revealed so far.
- So far, the only confirmed returning characters are Varric, Solas, Lace Harding, and the Inquisitor.
We already know that a few characters from previous games will pop up in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but it turns out that BioWare has more up its sleeve. In a new blog post, the devs say that there are still plenty of more characters to show off, including "some returning characters".
This comes from the long-awaited voice cast announcement, revealing who is playing each companion. However, at the bottom of the post, BioWare admits that this is far from the game's full cast, with some unrevealed actors coming back to reprise their roles from previous games.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Has More Returning Characters Than What We've Seen So Far
"We have so many more people to introduce you to, including some returning characters, but we’re not quite ready to reveal all those yet, because of you know - story spoilers," reads the blog post.
Fans had been eagerly awaiting the cast reveal for this very reason, as they were hoping to spot some familiar names on the list. However, it seems that BioWare is well aware of this, and is keeping some cast members close to its chest for now.
So, who's going to return? Well, we already know that Varric, Lace Harding, and Solas are back. It's also been confirmed that all of them are being played by their original actors. We also know that the Inquisitor is going to appear in some capacity, although it remains to be seen how involved they are with the main story.
Another Inquisition character is likely to make an appearance too: Dorian. While his inclusion hasn't been confirmed, he hails from The Veilguard's primary setting of Tevinter, making at least a cameo from the fan-favourite mage incredibly likely.
BioWare has already said that Hawke will be sitting this one out, so don't expect them to return too.
Outside of that, the time jump might give us some clues. The Veilguard takes place 10 years after Dragon Age: Inquisition, making it 22 years since Dragon Age: Origins. With that in mind, any character who became a Grey Warden around the beginning of the series could make an appearance, but it's getting to the point where they'll be really hoping that the search to cure the Calling is getting somewhere. The Hero of Ferelden better hurry it up - if they're still alive.
In any case, it shouldn't be too much longer until we find out who's made the cut for ourselves. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to launch this autumn.
