It has been hard to get paths looking right in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Access. Placing down paving in life simulation games is what makes a village feel like home, and, while the paths are super cute, they were always missing something: borders.

We have been using other methods to hide the blurred edges of paths, but now you no longer have to do that. Here is how to get paths with borders.

How To Get Borders For Paths

It is as easy as crafting! Make sure your game is updated to at least the June 6, 2023 version, and head to the nearest Crafting Table in your valley. Select the Fences & Paving tab and scroll down until you see paths with borders.

You will want to make sure you have everything you need either in your inventory or in a nearby chest, since Crafting Tables will take from chests. Fortunately, it's incredibly easy to make borders, crafting roads with borders will cost the exact same as the recipe to craft without.

You will not have to collect extra materials in order to get the same result, but with borders. It is all about what style you desire, for the same price. Every single previous path has a counterpart that comes with borders:

  • Asphalt
  • Muddy Path
  • Natural Rock
  • Brick Road
  • Sinister Brick Road
  • Leaf-Strewn Path
  • Loose Gravel Path
  • Gem & Opal Road
  • Sun-Baked Earthen Road
  • Snowy Brick Road

Most of the paths will require regular materials you come across every day. Some of these materials can be hard to collect such as clay, because clay can only be collected by digging one hole at a time. Below is a table of where to get each material efficiently.

Paving with borders will have a raised appearance. If you want your particular biome to look more natural and overgrown, you may want to stick with the original paving without borders. If you are looking to build your valley into a lived-in residential area, the borders will make it look so much better.
