Stardew Valley winters are notorious for being chilly, long, and difficult. When crops won’t grow and foraging is scarce, you need to be creative with how you spend your time. Luckily, winter also brings many fun and entertaining events. All the villagers of Pelican Town come together for activities, competitions, and shopping opportunities.

Pelican Town is full of rare events, but these are the rarest of them all.
PostsThe Night Market has plenty of boats to see and villagers to talk to. With so much to explore, how to spend such a short amount of time before the night is over can be overwhelming. If you narrow down the essential items to buy for your farming success, you’ll have the best time at the Night Market.

9 Shrouded Figure Teleportation
Get Home In A Flash
The Night Market only occurs at night in Stardew Valley from 5 pm to 2 am. There’s plenty to see around the market, and you may lose track of time browsing the different boats. This means you risk collapsing from exhaustion when the day resets at 2 am.
The Shrouded Figure will send you directly home to your farm for 250g. This is a small price to pay when you can use as much time as you need to buy items or talk to villagers at the Night Market.
8 Log Section
Woodsy Chic
If you visit the Magic Shop Boat, you’ll find a large assortment of furniture items for sale. On day three of the Night Market, the Magic Shop Boat sells the Log Section for 150g less than if you bought it at the Carpenter’s Shop.
The Log Section is purely an aesthetic choice to decorate your farm or not, but it can be a very pretty accent especially if you buy it for cheap. If you have a cottage core themed farm or if the forest farm is your favorite, this would be a perfect addition.
7 Grave Stone
For A Creepy Farm Vibe
For fans of a witchy farm aesthetic or those who love battling monsters on a wilderness farm, the Grave Stone is an essential piece of furniture to collect. It is first available during Stardew Valley’s Halloween-themed celebration, Spirit’s Eve. After that, it can only be purchased at the Night Market.

I'd buy a dozen Wallflower Pals IRL if I could.
PostsIf you’re looking to buy a gravestone, get to the Night Market as soon as possible because this furniture item is only available on the first day. It’s also 150g cheaper at the Night Market than at the Spirit’s Eve festival, so you’ll save some money.
6 Iridium Fireplace
Oh So Cozy
An Iridium Fireplace is a beautiful piece of furniture that would liven up any room in your farmhouse. The only issue is the Magic Shop Boat is the only vendor in all of Stardew Valley that sells it for the steep price of 15,000g. If you work hard on saving money, you eventually can purchase it.
All the money saved will be worth it to have a huge fireplace in your living room for the winter. The Night Market takes place in mid-Winter, so it’s the perfect time of year to cozy up by the fire.
5 Traveling Cart Items
Extra Shopping Opportunities!
The Traveling Cart’s items are randomized over the three-day Night Market. Even though what you’ll find is up to chance, surely, you’ll find an item you like. The only other time the Traveling Cart will be around is Friday or Sunday, like normal, so check it when you can. Stock changes each time she visits, so be sure to check in often.
Stardew Valley fans that play multiplayer particularly love searching out the Traveling Cart for the wedding ring recipe. Crafting this ring lets you marry the other farmer you’re playing with.
4 Candy Cane Decorations
Get Festive
Because the Night Market takes place in the middle of winter, it’s safe to assume some of the merchants will be embracing the holiday season that comes at the end of the year. The Decoration Boat sells candy cane decorations in red or green of various sizes. These decorations can not be purchased anywhere else.

3 Two Rarecrows
Don't Feel Like Donating For Them? Buy Them Instead!
What farm would be complete without a scarecrow? The scarecrows in Stardew Valley are adorable but also functional: they all stop crows from eating your crops and spoiling all the work you put into growing them, but some of them are aesthetically special.
The Rarecrow series is sought after by most Stardew Valley fans. Rarecrow Seven and Eight can only be found as rewards for donating to the Stardew Valley Museum unless you buy them at the Night Market.
Once your Rarecrow collection is complete, you can finally craft a deluxe scarecrow that will protect even more crops.
2 Mermaid Boat Pearl
A Valuable Souvenir
One of the best attractions at the Night Market doesn’t cost anything except your time. The Mermaid Boat show lasts one hour and forty minutes in the game, so make sure you show up with plenty of time to watch before the night ends.
After watching the mermaids perform, you can recreate the song they have sung on clams inside the boat. If you choose the right sequence of notes, they’ll reward you with a Pearl. A pearl is a very rare item in Stardew Valley. Most players sell it for a high price, but you can gift it as well.
1 Submarine Fishing Tour
Catch Exclusive Fish
Some players might be nervous about spending 1,000g for a fishing trip when they can fish anywhere in Stardew Valley, but the price is worth it. On the fishing tour in the submarine, players have an opportunity to find many rare items.
This is also a good chance to fish up some Fishing Jelly to help on your future fishing expeditions.
Fishing in the deep is the only way players can find the Midnight Squid, Spook Fish, and Blobfish. These can be used in food recipes, crafting recipes, or added to a fishpond. Whatever you choose to do with them, obtaining such rare fish will pay back the 1,000g you spent to fish for them in no time.
