PostsWhile the previous modifiers didn't let you use any perks, items, or add-ons, Chaos Shuffle lets you use all of those, but the perks are randomized. This makes for highly unpredictive and chaotic gameplay. But what is a modifier, and how do you play Chaos Shuffle? We've got all the details for you so you know exactly what to expect.
Due to this modifier's unexpected popularity, it has been extended to June 3, 2024 at 11am EST.
What Is A Modifier?
A modifier is when game developers take a standard match and they modify certain aspects of the game.
For example, in Lights Out, Survivors and Killers were plunged into darkness with a limited UI and no perks.
In My Little Oni, the Killer only played as The Oni and was a super giant, while the Survivors were ant-sized. Additionally, every survivor was on final hook and could be killed instantly once downed.
The point of a modifier is to slightly (or drastically) change something from a normal match to make things more interesting. The modifiers have a separate lobby queue from the regular game, and are usually only around for a week or less.
How To Play The Chaos Shuffle Modifier
CloseTo play Chaos Shuffle, you'll select the modifier on the main menu in the upper left corner. It'll be right underneath "Play" which is what you choose for a normal match.
On the next screen you can choose if you want to play as Killer or Survivor.
CloseThen it'll load you into your lobby where you choose your character, customize them, and choose items, add-ons, and offerings.
In a normal lobby, you can also add perks to your loadout. However, for Chaos Shuffle, each perk slot will have a question mark. You won't know what your perks are until you're loaded into the live match.
Once in the match, the perks will show in the bottom right corner of your screen, like normal, but you can also open up the Match Details screen (Esc or the menu button your controller) to read the details of each perk you've been given.
In Chaos Shuffle, you will have access to all available perks, for both Killer and Survivor, regardless of whether or not you've unlocked it. This is a great way to learn about perks you may not know about or haven't used before.
Chaos Shuffle Tome Challenges And Rewards
Chaos Shuffle also comes with its own Tome, complete with challenges that must be completed in the modifier. There is only one level to this Tome with eight challenges total, for both Survivor and Killer.
