In Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, the stars of the show are SOLDIERs First Class. These cream-of-the-crop highly-skilled Shinra operatives have become celebrities among a certain subset of Midgar's citizenry. Like any good group of groupies, these folks have organized fan clubs in honor of their idols.

What's the deal with fan clubs, though? How many are there? Why bother joining them? Whether it's worth seeking them out is fairly subjective; the tangible rewards aren't plentiful, but the narrative experience is nifty. Here's how to get Zack's name in four of them — and even have him feature as the icon of the fifth.

How To Join Fan Clubs

As early as the beginning of Chapter Two, when Kunsel insists that Zack gets the lay of the land out in Sector Eight, you can find three SOLDIER-obsessed women on the street to the right of the entrance from Shinra Building. They each have an idol: Genesis, Angeal, or Sephiroth. You can join the Genesis and Angeal fan clubs immediately by speaking with their fans a second time. No dice with Sephiroth's just yet.

There's another Genesis fan club, this one more bookish in nature, and you can find it on Loveless Avenue down one of the side streets where a woman stands ready to tell Zack all about the cause. Go ahead and get that one in as well.

As for Sephiroth's fan club, it's an exclusive lot to say the least. You cannot join his Silver Elite club until Chapter Five, by visiting the Sector Six Slums. Here, at the park that'll look quite familiar to FF7 fans, there's a Sephiroth fan club member. He'll ask three questions before you can join. Here are the correct answers:

  1. "Masamune."
  2. "Super Nova."
  3. "His left hand."

Zack himself can become the subject of a fifth fan club. Speak with Cissnei in Chapter Six, and then, in Chapter Seven, kill 30 or more enemies in a mini-game during the siege of Junon. Take the nearby elevator/gondola to Upper Junon afterward, chat with Cissnei above here just to be safe, and note she'll mention that Zack has gathered a small collection of his own fans lately.

In Chapter Eight, talk to the Shinra Building receptionist on the first floor. Or rather, one of the two. Just interact with them both if needed, though you'll know the one because she's more interested in chatting gossip than actually aiding patrons of the tower.

Reasons To Join Fan Clubs

For starters, you'll get plenty of entertaining emails. Who doesn't love those? They'll offer insight into the private lives of Crisis Core's biggest names. You also get some extra dialogue from Cissnei at a set point in the story, which is pretty rad specifically because Cissnei herself is pretty rad.

But if the tangible prizes are more to your taste, well, we suppose it depends on your definition of 'tangible'. Rather than rewards like Materia or accessories, you gain a Trophy/Achievement (at least, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC hardware) called 'Fan Club Savior'. Those among us who enjoy aiming to obtain as many of these digital doodads as possible should be gladdened by this, though you'll also receive the best email-related outcome for what it's worth.

In order to qualify for any of this, however, you need to unite the fan clubs in Chapter Seven. First, go to Sector Eight, near the fountain. Find the kid's mom over at the Sector One train station and tell her 'A mother without honor is nothing but a monster.' (Harsh, but dang, she deserves it.)

Also by the fountain, the Genesis fan is considering a dilemma. Tell her to merge with a rich fan club. Lastly, speak with the other Genesis fan club representative, over on Loveless Avenue, and then swing by the first fan one more time.

That's all there is to it for the mission to unite the fan clubs, at which point 'Fan Club Savior' should pop. (If it doesn't, do fret; it might be a bit later. We're running on recent memory on when precisely it occurred!)
