The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy - 8 Best Teammates

While you'll only get a say in who's on the battlefield with you during your expeditions in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, it's helpful to know which of your teammates is best to fall back on during combat missions - they've all got different roles to play, so you'll need to know how to use everyone.

Posts 2But we all find ourselves drifting back to the same characters throughout The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, focusing on them in combat and homing in to let their strengths shine. Here are our picks for the best teammates in Last Defense Academy.
Without consideration of story elements, this list weighs your teammates based on how effective we found them to be in combat scenarios throughout the game, with as few story spoilers as possible.
8 Tsubasa
She's Taking The Wheel
After you’ve successfully persuaded her to join the team, despite her vomit problems, Tsubasa Kawana is an excellent support teammate in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. She’s got some offensive capabilities, but she shines when she’s helping the rest of the group succeed with her support skills.
Able to cure Fatigue for teammates in a wide range as well as offering some attack and armor boosts after you’ve upgraded her Class Weapon, Tsubasa might be a bit larger of a unit, but between her support and her big HP pool, she’s indispensable.
7 Takemaru
No Guts, No Glory
Faithfully by your side from that first fight onward, Takemaru is something of a tank in the earliest battles in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. He becomes vastly more powerful with a few Class Weapon upgrades, but he’s always a good defender, given the passive skill that gives him one armor for each tile he moves.
Eat This! is one of the first powered-up moves you’ll gain access to once the training room opens, damaging the enemy and dampening their movement on the next turn for a perfect offense and defensive combo. Additionally, his Special Attack is one of the strongest on your whole team!
6 Kurara
Tomato Headed Terminator
The only kind of offensive Kurara really is, is when you’re chatting with her in person off of the battlefield, but on it, she’s a teammate made to help bolster your defenses, leaving her attacks to passive builds. She’s got a knack for crafting machines to help your team in battle, and oh man, is she going to use it.

PostsNot only does Kurara help increase the defenses all around the field with her assortment of Traps, but her passive skill allows her to restore some HP to any Barrier Generator (or other building) that she ends her turn standing beside – critical for defensive battles!
5 Nozomi
Mortal Healer
A good offense is nothing without a solid support network, and that’s where Nozomi comes in, using her special ammo and armor to heal ailments and HP, including but not limited to being able to remove Stun from teammates who are out of action having just used their Special Attack when your Voltage is high enough.
The only reason she’s not a bit higher up on our list is that Nozomi isn’t quite like the rest of the group and isn’t using hemoanima the same way you are, which means her death is permanent, so you’ll need to protect her at all costs and have her retreat if necessary.
4 Takumi
Original Offense
While Takumi might not be the wildest attacker on our list of the best teammates in Last Defense Academy, he’s something of an old faithful – since he’s your player character, he’s always in battle, which means you’ve got plenty of time to learn to use him effectively.
He deals plenty of short-range melee attacks that pack quite a punch, so he’s reliable for use in battle, at least. Work on upgrading his Class Weapon to unlock all kinds of powerful new multi-target offensive attacks, since Takumi is always around to deal solid damage to a good number of foes.
3 Darumi
It's Killing Game Time!
Sure, she spends a good amount of time going on about the Killing Game, but Darumi brings that energy to the battlefield with her as well, hitting each battle with a good number of mid-range offensive attacks, launching knives in all kinds of shapes and heckling her foes as she does.

With so many resources, skill points, gifts, and more to contend with, your Free Time is pretty packed.
PostsBut if you’re using Darumi often enough, her being able to heal her own Fatigue with the moves her attack list changes to when she’s already taken a turn is indispensable. End her turn someplace she’ll be able to use her cross-shaped attack again and ask her to do so, clearing her Fatigue and allowing a seamless extra move.
2 Eito
Judge, Jury, And Executioner
Disregarding the story of the game, Eito makes for one hell of a teammate when he joins you on the battlefield. Things are looking bleak when he shows up to fight by your side after you’ve ventured out on an expedition to save him from the world beyond the Undying Flames, and once he appears, he brings a whole repertoire of powerful multi-target attacks.
Aptly named Judge, Jury, and Executioner, you’ll find yourself relying on Eito quite heavily throughout the defensive battles you do in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Additionally, his passive skill has a decent chance of giving him a good buff, stacking his capabilities and making him one powerful addition to the Last Defense Academy.
1 Kyoshika
The Way Of The Samurai
While she doesn’t unlock until a bit into the story, Kyoshika is at her most powerful when she’s dealing damage to a single foe, though she has enough attacks to keep tons of school invaders at bay all at once. However, her passive skill giving her an attack boost against singular enemies makes her handy to have during Commander battles.
Kyoshika can inflict Stun on herself with a few attacks, so it’s best to keep her near Nozomi if you’re planning to continue using her sword skills in battle.
