You can enhance the Penitent One in Blasphemous 2 in many ways, with your Bile Flasks being one of the more crucial of the bunch, allowing you to carry more, make them much more potent, and even increase your overall HP. Providing you with a solid safety net that you will need for the latter portions of your journey.

Blood Upgrade Overview
CloseBefore diving into the individual upgrades for your Bile Flasks, let's briefly go over where you must go for Blood Upgrades and what each item does. You must head to the Blood Upgrade lady in the City of the Blessed Name for any upgrade dealing with your Bile Flasks or raising your Maximum HP.
By providing Empty Receptacles, Ornate Chalices, and Crystal Shards, you can enhance your Bile Flasks and the Penitent One's overall health, making them all worthy of the time and effort it takes to seek them out. The sections below will delve deep into everything the Blood Upgrade lady offers and how you can earn her benefits!
How To Upgrade Bile Flask Limit
Finding Empty Receptacles and returning them to the Blood Upgrade woman in the City of the Blessed Name will reward you with additional Bile Flasks, raising your limit by one per Empty Receptacle found.
You will begin your journey with two Bile Flasks and can find an additional four more, enabling you to end with a total of six Bile Flasks. And, if that wasn't enough to keep you in the fight, you can also increase their potency, which we will cover in the section below!
How To Upgrade Bile Flask Potency
In addition to increasing how many Bile Flasks you can carry, you can also enhance their overall potency by finding and returning Silver-Clad Crystal Shards to the Blood Upgrade lady in the City of the Blessed Name.
There are only three Silver-Clad Crystal Shards to be found in Blasphemous 2, all giving your Bile Flasks a substantial boost in potency, allowing you to recover more of your health in a single drink than before, allowing you to preserve more of your flasks during battle!
How To Upgrade Maximum HP
Lastly, we have Ornate Chalices, your primary method of increasing your overall HP. There are five Ornate Chalices for you to find and return to the Blood Upgrade woman in the City of the Blessed Name, each of which will provide you with an additional +30 HP.
When beginning your adventure, you will only have 150 HP, which can be doubled by finding all five Ornate Chalices, bringing you to 300 HP in total.
However, this can be further extended by continually offering your blood sacrifice to the large Chalice in the Blood Upgrade room several times, ultimately rewarding you with another +30 to your overall HP, taking you to 330 HP total!
While the extra HP from offering blood sacrifices to the large Chalice in the Blood Upgrade room is worth doing, we recommend only doing it after you've obtained all the other Bile Flask Upgrades, as this will eventually remove all the skin from the Blood Upgrade woman, making her unable to interact with you!
