So Many Zombies
Holding Your Own Against Huge Hordes
A chaotic top-down game from Casual Distraction Games, So Many Zombies is a fast-paced arcade style action game that pits you against the unending hordes. The waves are so massive that you genuinely may have frame rate issues, but don’t worry you’re armed well before and during each round.
There’s a plethora of powerful pickups and weapons to unlock as well as a levelling system that allows for power-ups and abilities that will clear the field of shambling corpses before they overwhelm you. Set in your stereotypical post-apocalyptic wasteland, Only Out tasks you and your friend with surviving as you navigate your way through zombie-filled town after town. There’s cross-platform play if you want to mix things up, and it’s fairly easy to blow through each level so it guarantees a fun afternoon. The hordes never stop, so you better work fast.
Invisible Flow
A James Bond Esque Adventure
A brilliantly entertaining survival game from the DogHadHouse development duo, Invisible Flow is a love letter to 80’s style spy and adventure serials and it just keeps the hits coming. You play as John, an investigator that heads to Lush Palms, an island where something sinister has gone down.
Communication has been cut off for weeks and raving infected workers roam the land, so it’s up to John to solve the mystery and help his missing sister. Crafting and preparation for encounters is emphasised off the bat and it doesn’t take much for things to go spectacularly wrong. With a fun comic style and a story that keeps twisting and turning right up until the end, it’s hard to not recommend picking up Invisible Flow.
Staying Fresh
Ferocious Food Fights
Staying Fresh from Rubel Games is the kind of zombie indie game that turns heads for all the right reasons. Instead of your usual shambling corpses, here you’re fighting against rotten food that just won’t die. It’s a turn-based Early Access game that deserves a spot on your radar for how original, cute and surprisingly challenging it can be.
Gameplay is in a tactical perspective and as you progress through the kitchen you’ll pick up a bunch of culinary heroes to help you that all come with their own unique attack styles and abilities. Fresh food helps you upgrade your fighters and with each trip into the kitchen being randomized, you never know what you’re going to get. A fun distraction that’s unexpectedly deep at times, Staying Fresh is highly recommended.

Endo Parasitic 2
A One-Armed Mans Worst Nightmare
After waking up on the floor with no legs, a missing arm and a parasite in your spine, Endo Parasitic 2 from Deep Root Interactive is a strange indie game that happily chucks you in the deep end from the jump. The premise is simple, you’re stuck in a lab that’s overrun with zombies, monsters and worse, and you need to get out. Simple right?
Wrong. You’ve only got one arm and everything in the game, including weapons, switches and more, need to be manually interacted with. What follows is a chaotic and fun mix of balancing your one good arm with what task in the moment is the most important. Dragging yourself across the floor to leave, or trying to fight. Very weird but very fun, Endo Parasitic is worth picking up.

Surviving Highschool, But Not How You Think
A zombie game from Kioop that needs a lot more awareness, Dread Dawn is a fantastic open-world zombie survival game that absolutely nails the scope and size of undead hordes. But that’s easier said than done as the hordes are hyper reactive, absolutely massive and there’s so much that can go wrong. The crafting list is huge and you can mess around with a lot of build and customisation options for your character and your base. Not one for the faint of heart, Dread Dawn is a must-play if you’re looking for a zombie game with absolutely gigantic horde sizes.

Each side has their own goals. For example, Zombies have to shutdown generators, spread the infection and they can shapeshift to blend in. Whilst Defenders have to use traps, scanners and their intuition to find out who’s here to help and who’s just causing harm.
The map is randomly generated, so each round is unique and completely new.
