While Steins;Gate is most well known for its extremely popular anime adaptation, it was originally a visual novel released in 2009. The story revolves around Okabe Rintaro and the members of the Future Gadget Laboratory, who accidentally discover time travel.
If you've seen the anime, the overall story is largely the same, but the visual novel greatly expands on interactions between the characters due to its longer runtime. Using the phone trigger system, you can alter the outcome of the story depending on how and who you respond to. There are multiple different endings to achieve using this mechanic, which makes replaying the game even better.
