PostsNintendo Switch owners can access a variety of SNES titles through the Nintendo Switch Online service. While new games are added every month, the number of games already on the platform can often be overwhelming. Whether you're searching for some nostalgia or looking for a new adventure, these Super Nintendo games offer timeless experiences that are just as fun to play today as they were during the 90s.
Updated on September 29, 2024, by Kyle Chamaillard: The number of titles available on Nintendo Switch Online continues to grow as new ones are added to the service every month or two. With over sixty great games to choose from, we've decided to update this list to help you choose which ones to hop into next.
25 Cosmo Gang The Puzzle
If Cosmo Gang The Puzzle doesn't ring any bells, that is because this version of the game never launched outside of Japan. Namco made some slight alterations to the game before it was ported to other countries by making Pac-Man the star and giving it a new title - Pac-Attack.
It's great to have another Japan-exclusive game on Nintendo Switch Online, but it's a fairly average falling-block experience that is overshadowed by better games in the genre. It has some interesting visuals and ideas, but Cosmo Gang The Puzzle fails to bring anything new to the table that would keep you coming back for more.
24 Tetris Attack
After the original Tetris became an international phenomenon, developers spent years trying to capture lighting in a bottle again by innovating the gameplay to create new challenges. Tetris Attack is one of the best spiritual successors to the classic puzzle game and also helped popularize the "match 3" genre in North America.
Known as Panel de Pon in Japan, the game originally used unique characters and locations before adding a Yoshi's Island aesthetic to international versions. Instead of dealing with falling blocks, Tetris Attack requires you to swap boxes either horizontally or vertically to match three or more to prevent the blocks from reaching the top of the screen.
23 Big Run
Big Run was originally an arcade game before it was ported to the Super Famicom in 1991. As another Japan-exclusive title that's now available in other countries, it's an interesting relic to dive into for a couple of moments, but it doesn't come close to being as fun as other racing games on the platform.
One of the most interesting aspects of Big Run is that it takes place in Africa. Your main mission is to travel from Libya to the western coast of the country. You'll need to avoid environmental obstacles and obtain sponsors to make it to the end of each leg before time runs out.
22 Kunio-Kun No Dodgeball Da Yo Zen'in Shūgō
Dodgeball has never been appreciated as much as other sports like baseball and soccer, but there were still a handful of games focused on the event during the late 80s and early 90s. Acting as a sequel to Super Dodgeball, Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shugo is an impressive upgrade worth diving into if you're a fan of classic sports games or the River City Ransom series.
The game is more than a bare-bones dodgeball simulator and includes fun mechanics like power-ups and an RPG-like leveling-up system. You can choose a pre-existing team, or create a new one by choosing the characters with stats that compliment one another. You might not lose hours to it, but this game is one you won't want to dodge.
21 Battletoads & Double Dragon
Battletoads and Double Dragon is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up that brings the characters and action from both series together for an unforgettably odd crossover. The game originally launched on the NES and was later brought over to the SNES with improved graphics, though most fans prefer the original for its tighter gameplay and charming 8-bit visuals.
It's impressive how seamlessly the game brings two very different series together to create a cohesive adventure that's fun to play with a friend. Each stage is full of fun surprises and the attack combos still feel great. If you've never played Battletoads and Double Dragon, the version on Nintendo Switch Online is an excellent way to see what the unexpected hybrid has to offer.
20 Kirby's Dream Course
Kirby's Dream Course

Unlike Super Star, Avalanche, or Dream Land 3, Dream Course is a mini-golf-inspired game with unique gameplay, a fantastic soundtrack, and a satisfying learning curve.
If you're feeling burnt out from all the platformers and action games, look no further than Kirby's Dream Course for a relaxing afternoon with the pink hero. There is a zen-like quality to it once you begin to master the controls, and finishing each course feels just as rewarding as a hole-in-one.
19 Kirby's Dream Land 3
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Platformer Released November 27, 1997 ESRB e Developer(s) HAL Laboratory Publisher(s) Nintendo Engine game engine Multiplayer Local Multiplayer Franchise Kirby Platform(s) SNES, Wii, Nintendo Wii U, Switch How Long To Beat 4 Hours Powered by Expand CollapseKirby's Dream Land 3 is the first game in the trilogy developed for a home console - the first two games are on the Game Boy - and like Yoshi's Island, it uses a unique aesthetic unlike anything else on the SNES. If you're looking for a more relaxing and simple platformer compared to others on this list, Dream Land 3 is an excellent choice.
The main appeal of Dream Land 3 is the variety of animal friends that accompany Kirby during his adventure. Each one has an ability that will be essential for discovering everything the game has to offer. A friend can also join you for cooperative play, but they can only play as the blue blob, Gooey.
18 Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon
Simulation Released June 17, 1997 ESRB e Developer(s) Marvelous Publisher(s) Natsume Franchise Harvest Moon Platform(s) PlayStation (Original), Switch, SNES, PC Powered by Expand CollapseFarming simulators have come a long way since the genre began, and while they were originally far and few between, it feels like there are too many new farm-based games out there now to know which one is worth hopping into. If you're looking for a straightforward experience without the extra bells or whistles, the original Harvest Moon is always a delight.
You would never expect this, but you play as a young farmer who must take over a farm left behind by your grandparents. It doesn't take long to start the loop of growing crops, raising animals, and mingling with the locals, and while it's certainly stripped down compared to later Harvest Moon games, you can still spend a lot of time with it before feeling bored.
17 Breath Of Fire 2
Breath of Fire II
RPG Released December 10, 1995 ESRB t Developer(s) Capcom Franchise Breath of Fire Platform(s) SNES, Nintendo Game Boy Advance Publisher Capcom, Laguna, Ubisoft How Long To Beat 34 Hours Powered by Expand CollapseThere aren't many RPGs available through Nintendo Switch Online, but the handful of available titles are worth experiencing, especially the underrated Breath of Fire 2. This roughly 40-hour role-playing game has a captivating story, a fantastic turn-based battle system, and even a few mechanics you won't find anywhere else.
Aside from the exhilarating journey, there is also an astonishing town-building feature that allows you to recruit NPCs to help build you a better home. There are multiple ways to approach this objective, and it's still an amazing idea that somehow isn't featured in more games these days.
16 Star Fox
Star Fox
Rail Shooter Released March 22, 1993 ESRB r Developer(s) Nintendo, Argonaut Software Publisher(s) Nintendo Franchise Star Fox Platform(s) SNES How Long To Beat 1 hour Powered by Expand CollapseStar Fox for the Super Nintendo was the first game on the console to use polygonal graphics to create 3D models and environments. It was a technical marvel at the time, and an incredibly important game in Nintendo's long history, but what used to be amazing then feels a bit outdated by today's standards.
Related10 Best Optional Boss Fights In Gaming History
Some of these are weird, others are really hard. But they are definitely the very best.
PostsIt's still exciting to see Star Fox and his anthropomorphic crew mates on their first adventure, and they bring a lot of charm to what would otherwise be a fairly straightforward rail shooter. It takes roughly an hour to complete a successful run of the game, so if you have some time to kill, a journey through space and history is a trip worth taking.
