At launch, Marvel Rivals showcases 19 different characters across three character classes. Unofficially, 20 more characters have been leaked, ballooning the potential roster of the game to an eventual 39 characters. Apart from those officially and unofficially announced, here are more characters that would be a perfect fit for Marvel Rivals:

10 Professor X

Vanguard

Considering the inclusion of Magneto in Marvel Rivals and the surging popularity of the already beloved X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier would be a perfect fit for the Hero Shooter.

Equip him with his yellow hoverchair alongside his telepathic powers, and Professor X could be a very different style of Vanguard from the rest already in the game. Rather than focusing on physical strength, Professor X could use his telepathic powers to lessen the damage his enemies deal or otherwise impair their abilities.

9 Gamora

Duelist

The Guardians of the Galaxy are incomplete without Gamora. Considering the game includes many of the other Guardians including Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, and Mantis, Gamora seems a natural addition to the game at some point in the future.

The daughter of Thanos is a former killing machine and master assassin in her own right; she could deal absolutely lethal damage as a Duelist with a wide variety of sci-fi weaponry.

8 Shang-Chi

Strategist

Shang-Chi is a relatively underutilized member of the Marvel roster, considering his extremely interesting backstory, a very strong movie debut, and a seemingly bright MCU future ahead of him.

Shang-Chi's mastery of his chi could be used to buff or heal himself or allies, and his mastery of martial arts could enable him to go up against whatever fighter steps his way. Since Shang-Chi relies on a mastery of technique to hold his own, he could be a character with a low-skill floor but a high-skill ceiling.

7 Luke Cage

Vanguard

While the Iron Fist included in Marvel Rivals is Lin Lei rather than Danny Rand, it would still be a shame to see Iron Fist without the possibility of having Luke Cage at their side.

One of the original Heroes For Hire, Luke Cage has unbreakable skin, making him seriously difficult to hurt and a perfect candidate for the Vanguard role in Marvel Rivals alongside the likes of Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Groot, Peni Parker, and more.

6 Valkyrie

Duelist

Valkyrie is the leader of the elite Shield-Maidens sworn to defend the Asgardian Throne, making her one of the most skilled warriors in whatever room she finds herself in.

Capable of holding her own against the likes of Thor and The Hulk, Valkyrie would be proficient with plenty of different Asgardian weapons, making her a versatile Duelist able to perform well in plenty of scenarios. This kind of Jane Of All Trades character could be a fun addition to Marvel Rivals.

5 Morbius

Strategist

Marvel Rivals has room for one more vampire in the roster apart from Blade, and Morbius could be just what they need. A scientist trying to find a cure for his rare blood disorder, Dr. Michael Morbius accidentally transformed himself into a living vampire.

With a rather large list of abilities including a healing factor, hypnotism, and bat communication, Morbius could support himself and his teammates in a lot of different ways. One particularly interesting way could be by giving his teammates enhanced abilities by temporarily transforming into living vampires themselves, a process that Morbius is capable of curing afterward.

4 Deadpool

Duelist

A clear fan-favorite character, Deadpool would be an addition to Marvel Rivals that would surprise nobody. The Merc With A Mouth has already appeared in plenty of other Marvel games, including the underrated Marvel's Midnight Suns and Ultimate Alliance 3, with a movie trilogy to boot.

Deadpool could equal parts shred the enemy team with his trademark swords and guns, while simultaneously annoying them to death with his witty banter. Though there might be some friendly fire when it comes to witty banter, too.

3 Captain Marvel

Vanguard

One of the most powerful characters in the MCU, Captain Marvel would be another easy-to-accept addition to Marvel Rivals.

Carol Danvers' power set is no joke, as evidenced in Avengers Endgame when she burst through a spaceship. A resident not just of Earth but of many different planets throughout the galaxy, Captain Marvel is well-experienced, bringing tactics and techniques from across the galaxy. Her inclusion as a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals would seem like a natural choice.

2 Drax

Duelist

Completing the primary members of the Guardians of the Galaxy is Drax the Destroyer. Known for his unexpectedly big heart and inability to understand metaphors, Drax is capable of destruction on a level that sets him alone among the Guardians.

With his dual-blades and Leeroy Jenkins-style fighting technique, Drax could be an absolute blast in Marvel Rivals, especially if his abilities promote a style of play that includes running straight into the fray rather than planning any kind of reasonable attack strategy.

1 Korg

Duelist

While probably not the most requested character to be included in Marvel Rivals, you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who isn't having a good time when they see Korg appear. While Korg has seen different interpretations in different media, the Korg on everybody's mind is the Taika Waititi-voiced version from the MCU.

He's seen some time in the fighting pits of Sakaar and lived to tell the tale, meaning he must be a skilled fighter and so would be a worthy addition to Marvel Rivals. Seeing Korg throw down with The Thing, who was one of the 20 characters included in the leak, would be reason enough to put Korg in the arena.
