Lyney is Fontaine’s first five-star character, and he is a Pneuma-aligned Pyro bow user that can be a powerful addition to your character roster if you’ve been looking for a single-target DPS unit. If you are lucky enough to obtain him, you will need to know the materials required to raise his level and talents.

Lyney's Ascension Materials

Ascension is a time-consuming endeavor. This is especially true for the first few characters following a world expansion update since most of their ascension materials cannot be farmed in advance because they are locked behind inaccessible areas.

While this was partially the case for Lyney, it is also true that his ascension materials are also rather easy to farm because some of them are not unique to Fontaine.

In fact, you might already have some of the required materials you need in your inventory.

These are all the materials you will need for all of Lyney's ascension phases:

Where To Find The Emperor Of Fire And Iron

With a map expansion, we are bound to get new world bosses. The Emperor of Fire and Iron is one of the two world bosses that got added to the game in the 4.0 update, and he is rather well hidden. To find him and be able to get Lyney's ascension material, you will have to venture underwater.

You can dive anywhere in Fontaine, and you will still be able to reach the area.

After diving, head South until you reach the Elton Trench. If you see a lot of Sunken ships, you're going the right way.

Once in the Trench, you will see an area particularly dotted with Armored Crabs. There will be a section on the floor resembling a cave entrance.

Swim down and through it, following its flow. When you resurface, you will have reached the Emperor's hidden lair. Defeat him to collect the Emepror's Resolution needed to level up.

Be mindful that the sizzling pooled water you must cross to reach the crab will quickly drain your HP when you come into contact with it.

What Is The Total Cost Of Leveling Lyney Up?

Calculating ascension costs is crucial to being able to seamlessly level your character. However, it is not enough by itself.

Leveling up characters will require significant amounts of Mora and Experience books, which are notoriously scarce in a game like Genshin Impact where new characters get released consistently.

Knowing the full cost of leveling a character will immensely help in being fully prepared when you obtain them. These are the costs to look out for if you want to get Lyney to level 90:

Leveling Lyney from one to 90 will cost 404 Hero's Wit, 35 Adventurer's Experience, 12 Wanderer's Advice, and 1,671,600 Mora.

These totals need to be added to the ascension costs since they go hand in hand in reaching level 90.

The experience books on this list are just a recommendation to get good value from your books and waste as little as possible.

You may choose to switch around the experience books you use according to what you have available, just remember that each level raises the experience you need, and the value of each talent book is as follows:

  • 1,000 EXP per Wanderer's Advice
  • 5,000 EXP per Adventurer's Experience
  • 20,000 EXP per Hero's Wit.

The full cost in Mora for Lyney's ascension is 2,091,600. This excludes his talents, which will be another couple million Mora.

Lyney's Talent Materials

Leveling your character's talents is a crucial part of getting the best value out of them and utilizing their kit to the full extent of its potential.

This is quite an investment, but the return is often worth the effort. This is especially true for a DPS character like Lyney, who will need you to level all three talents to achieve his best performance.

Lyney's cost per talent is as follows:

The last level also requires a special material called Crown of Insight, which can be obtained through limited-time events or from the different trees you can ascend throughout Teyvat –like the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma, or the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru.

Where To Get Primordial Greenbloom

To get Primordial Greenbloom you will have to head back into the Sumeru desert and challenge the weekly boss domainThe Realm of Beginnings.

This domain is unlocked after you complete Sapientia Oromasdis Act 2,Nahida's second story quest.

This domain is underground in the stretch of land between the Desert of Hadramaveth and Gavireh Lajavard.

Primordial Greenbloom is one of the three potential rewards you can get when you challenge the domain from level 70 onwards; the other two are Everamber and Worldspan Fern.

Rewards for weekly trounce domains are completely random. However, you can use Dream Solventtoconvert materials using a crafting bench in any of the main cities or your Serenitea Pot.

Getting Dream Solvent from weekly boss challenges is also random, though.
