Kenyan Imposter

Kenyan Imposter is a social deduction party game played on a single phone. Everyone is shown the same secret word except one player — the imposter, who only gets a vague hint. Players take turns describing the word without giving it away, then vote on who they think is faking. Catch the imposter and the players win. Vote wrong, and the imposter walks free.

A round takes minutes. Add three or more players, pass the phone around so each player privately reveals their card, then talk it out before the timer runs out. The closer the imposter listens, the better they bluff — the best rounds end in an argument.

The word packs are written for Kenya rather than translated from somewhere else. Sherehe covers nightlife and celebrations, from Gengetone to Blankets and Wine. Soka Time is for football people: Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and the Mashemeji Derby. Kibanda Kitchen runs from mutura and smokie pasua to mum's Sunday sufuria. Kenya Famous is the runners, rappers and stars everyone claims to know, and Weekend Plans is how Saturdays actually get spent, from Ngong Hills to chama meetings.

Only the host needs the app — everyone else just needs to be in the room. The discussion timer, the number of imposters and the imposter hint can all be adjusted to suit the group.
