As you traverse the enchanting forests and rugged hills of Cyrodiil in Oblivion Remastered, you may encounter a peculiar warbling sound near water bodies. Fear not, it’s not a glitch from your console or PC; instead, it’s the resonant call of Nirnroot, a plant imbued with mystery.
This enigmatic flora has begun to populate the landscape, yet its secrets remain largely undiscovered. Upon collecting your first sprig of Nirnroot, you will trigger the quest named “Seeking Your Roots, ” which leads you to consult an alchemist. Unfortunately, they will offer little insight into this enigmatic botanical treasure.
If you wish to delve deeper into the world of Nirnroot and its alchemical potential in Oblivion Remastered, follow these steps:
Discovering Nirnroot’s Potential
Your path to enlightenment begins with a conversation with Sinderion, renowned as the leading botany expert in all of Cyrodiil. You can find him in the basement of the West Weald Inn, situated in the northwestern corner of Skingrad, a quaint city that lies in the uppermost part of the map.
Once you present the glowing plant to Sinderion, he reminisces about an old recipe book he acquired from a fellow adventurer, which details how to concoct an Elixir of Exploration, a potion dubbed the “ultimate dungeon delver’s brew.” However, a challenge arises: this elixir requires a rare component – Nirnroot.
Sinderion then proposes a task: if you can gather more sprigs of Nirnroot, he will be able to complete the elixir, enhancing your exploration endeavors. To fulfill this task, you must collect a total of 100 sprigs of Nirnroot. While this may seem daunting, rest assured that there are more than three times that number scattered across the vast landscape of Cyrodiil.
Upon delivering the first 10 Nirnroot to Sinderion, you will receive your initial elixir. Subsequently, he will request 10 more samples to brew a more potent mixture. The rewards for your gathering efforts are as follows:
- 10 Nirnroot – Weak Elixir of Exploration: Grants Night Eye for 300 seconds and Fortifies Health by 20 points.
- 20 Nirnroot – Moderate Elixir of Exploration: Grants Night Eye for 300 seconds and Fortifies Health and Fatigue by 20 points.
- 30 Nirnroot – Strong Elixir of Exploration: Grants Night Eye for 300 seconds and Fortifies Health, Fatigue, Blade, Blunt, Destruction, Restoration, Sneak, and Security by 5 points each.
- 40 Nirnroot – Grand Elixir of Exploration: Grants Night Eye for 300 seconds and Fortifies Health, Fatigue, Blade, Blunt, Destruction, Restoration, Sneak, and Security by 10 points each.
Any additional Nirnroot you acquire can be sold to Sinderion for a modest sum of gold; however, by that stage in your gameplay, this amount may feel insignificant. Ultimately, after acquiring all the elixirs, you may choose to halt your collection of Nirnroot or utilize it in your personal potion-making endeavors, if you have an interest in alchemy.
