Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide to the Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways

In the latest update for Wuthering Waves Version 2.1, a new weekly combat game mode called “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways”has been introduced. This mode serves as a condensed take on the ongoing Depths of Illusive Realm event, much like the Simulated Universe in Honkai: Star Rail. Players can look forward to weekly rewards and an inventive way to utilize Waveplates.
However, access to Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways isn’t instantaneous for all players; specific progress within the storyline and gameplay is required. Below, we detail how players can unlock this new feature, engage with its mechanics, and the enticing rewards that await them.
How to Unlock Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways
To access Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways, players need to achieve at least Union Level 30 and complete the prologue for Chapter II titled Through the Sea Thou Break. This quest introduces players to Ragunna City in Rinascita for the first time. Upon satisfying these prerequisites, a side quest named “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways”will become available in the quest log.
The quest will guide players to meet Encore’s Cosmos located near the Resonance Nexus in Ragunna City. Engaging with Cosmos will prompt players to travel to Thessaleo Fells, where this new game mode is situated near the area’s Resonance Nexus.
How to Play Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways
As is standard in many game modes, players must assemble a team consisting of three Resonators to navigate the Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways. Each week will present a fresh rotation of Dreamscape Aid Resonators; including at least one of these in your lineup provides a significant 150% bonus to Illusive Points, which are essential for claiming weekly rewards. Moreover, the Dreamscape Aid Effects deliver beneficial buffs specifically crafted to enhance the performance of that week’s featured Resonators.
The core effect, known as Lucid Dream, is automatically initiated once players fill the Dreamscape Energy gauge, identifiable by a key symbol in the top-left corner of the screen. Dreamscape Energy can be generated through Basic Attacks and weekly objectives. When Lucid Dream activates, players receive substantial buffs such as increased Crit Rate, accelerated Energy regeneration, and shorter cooldown times for a limited duration.
To successfully navigate through Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways, players are required to traverse 13 Memory Zones, akin to the process in Depths of Illusive Realm. Each zone rewards players with Metaphors to enhance Resonators and uses Dream Fragments as currency. Notably, Memory Zones 6 and 12 are designated as Memory of Rest rooms, offering an opportunity to exchange Dream Fragments for additional Metaphors. Meanwhile, Memory Zones 7 and 13 serve as boss encounters, where defeating the bosses enables players to spend Waveplates for supplementary rewards.
Metaphors encountered in Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways tend to be more straightforward in functionality compared to those in Depths of Illusive Realm, often providing basic enhancements to Attack (ATK), Critical hits (Crit), Damage (DMG), Basic Attacks, and skills related to Resonance. Certain Metaphors, identified as ‘Dreamscape Power, ’ specifically bolster and refine the effects of Lucid Dream.
Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways Rewards
The rewards earned each week in Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways are tied to the Illusive Points accumulated by players, earned through participation. The amount of Illusive Points rewarded is influenced by the number of Memory Zones cleared during a single run. To unlock the entirety of the available rewards, players must gather at least 6, 000 Illusive Points weekly. Through this mode, players can earn up to 160 Astrite per week, sufficient for one Convene pull.
Illusive Points Rewards 1, 000 Astrite x40 2, 000 Advanced Sealed Tube x5 3, 000 Astrite x60 4, 000 Advanced Resonance Potion x5 5, 000 Astrite x60 6, 000 Shell Credit x60, 000Additionally, players can redeem Waveplates in Memory Zones 7 and 13 after defeating the bosses for extra rewards, which include:
