Step 1: Acquire a Rat Bomb
To begin this mission successfully, players must first find a rat bomb. Various rat bombs are scattered throughout the level, but the easiest one to secure is located quite near the West Gate starting area. Specifically, you’ll find a rat bomb in the attic of a crumbling building after embarking on the second mission. The accompanying map and images will assist you in locating it with ease.
Step 2: Place the Rat Bomb
After securing a rat bomb, your next destination should be a restaurant located in the upper right quadrant of the map. Philo Beck can typically be found in this establishment while in a neutral state. To facilitate your navigation, the location has been highlighted on the following map.
Upon reaching the restaurant, proceed to sneak through the open door on the west side. This will lead you into the kitchen, where you should then go through the door on your right. Players will find themselves hiding behind a counter, from where the outline of a rat is visible on the ground. By interacting with this outline, you can place the rat bomb.
Utilizing the Focus mechanic can prove advantageous in this phase, as it helps monitor the positioning of Philo and any nearby enemies within the restaurant. Keeping Philo in a neutral state is crucial for successfully targeting him with the rat bomb.
Step 3: Wait for Philo Beck
After successfully placing the rat bomb, patience is key. Players simply need to wait for Philo to draw near, as he will detonate the rat bomb of his own accord. Upon the explosion, players will complete the task, gain XP, and earn the M1895 pistol as their reward.
