Spider-Tracers Explained: Marvel’s Unique Tracking Technology

In Marvel Rivals, each hero offers a distinct gameplay experience. For Spider-Man, mastery of combos and the strategic use of Spider-Tracers are key to dominating the battlefield and disrupting enemy strategies.
Engaging with Spider-Man’s capabilities demands a blend of technical prowess and timing, particularly regarding his Spider-Tracers. Below is a comprehensive overview of how this unique element functions within his skill set, along with handy tips for maximizing his effectiveness.
Understanding Spider-Tracers in Marvel Rivals
Spider-Tracers represent a status effect from Spider-Man’s alternate attack, the Cyber-Web Cluster. When an enemy gets hit by these webs, they acquire a Spider Web mark, which is visible on their health bar. This mark opens the door for Spider-Man to deal additional damage when targeting marked foes.
Utilizing Spider-Tracers effectively is fundamental to Spider-Man’s playstyle. Given his relatively low base damage, players must first mark enemies with tracers before unleashing their full assault on them. This tactic lowers Spider-Man’s time-to-kill (TTK) significantly, making him an exceptional duelist, especially against more vulnerable characters.
Moreover, certain daily challenges or special missions may require players to trigger Spider-Tracers on opponents. While controlling Spider-Man can be complex, such requirements can be completed in Co-op vs. AI modes, which is helpful for players still honing their skills.
How to Trigger Spider-Tracers
To activate a Spider-Tracer, players simply need to strike an enemy with the Cyber-Web Cluster and follow up with either a basic attack or the Amazing Combo uppercut. It’s important to note that Spider-Tracers cannot be activated through Spider-Man’s ultimate move or his Get Over Here skill. However, the latter can be used to draw Spider-Man towards an enemy with an existing tracer without consuming the tracer itself.
The activation of a Spider-Tracer results in an additional damage boost of approximately 45, regardless of the attacking move used. Pairing Spider-Man with allies like Venom can further enhance his damaging potential, as Venom’s unique skills allow for rapid eliminations when combined with Spider-Tracers. Keep in mind that each tracer has a duration of about three seconds, so swift execution of combos is essential before the mark disappears.
Spider-Man has the capacity to stockpile up to five charges of Cyber-Web Cluster, with each charge replenishing every three seconds. By dealing around 30 damage per hit, these webs also serve as an excellent finishing move against opponents low on health.
General Usage Tips
- Cyber-Web Cluster projectiles travel slowly; they are most effective at close range.
- Utilize web clusters in conjunction with melee attacks to maximize damage per second (DPS).
- Spider-Man’s combos are quite adaptable, so don’t limit yourself to just one pattern.
- The Amazing Combo has a broad area of effect (AOE) and can activate multiple tracers at the same time.
