PlayStation Unveils Project Defiant: A Wireless Fight Stick for Gamers

During the recent State of Play event, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed an exciting new accessory for gaming enthusiasts: Project Defiant, a wireless fight stick designed for both PlayStation 5 and PC users.

The launch coincided with Digital Eclipse’s announcement of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection. This upcoming release will include nine classic Mortal Kombat titles, set to arrive on various platforms—including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC—by 2025.

Innovative Features of Project Defiant

According to a detailed PlayStation Blog post, Project Defiant leverages PlayStation’s proprietary PlayStation Link technology, which promises ultra-low latency for an enhanced gaming experience. Notably, this fight stick is not limited to wireless use; it also supports a wired connection, providing flexibility for gamers.

Recent footage showcased during the presentation highlighted the dual-tone design of the fight stick, echoing the signature white and black aesthetic of the PS5. Among the standout specifications, Project Defiant features a high-quality digital stick custom-designed by Sony. Gamers can also benefit from toolless interchangeable restrictor gates (available in square, circle, and octagon shapes), mechanical button switches, and a touchpad reminiscent of the DualSense controller.
