Elden Ring Nightreign Guide: Adjusting Shifting Earth Events

The dynamic Shifting Earth events in Elden Ring Nightreign provide players with an exciting gameplay twist, transforming the game world and compelling teamwork. Whether exploring the depths of an ancient volcano or scaling a frozen mountaintop, these events keep the Rogue-lite experience feeling fresh. However, players have often lamented the infrequency of these shifts, making timely participation feel elusive.
That was the case until the release of Version 1.01.3, which introduced a crucial quality-of-life upgrade. This unexpected update from the developers at FromSoftware not only revitalized gameplay but also introduced a formidable new boss known as the Gaping Jaw’s “Everdark Sovereign.”Defeating this brutal adversary is essential for players looking to harness the power of the shifting earth.
A New and Improved Shop
Upon conquering this violet vortex-creating menace, players will acquire a new currency known as Sovereign Sigils, alongside Murk. To capitalize on this new currency, adventurers need to discover the newly introduced shop, the Collector Signboard, which is somewhat hidden from plain sight.
This shop requires you to defeat the Everdark Sovereign first; otherwise, the area remains vacant. After my own exploration, I found it challenging to locate until I made progress in the game.
To find the Collector Signboard, teleport to the shore of the Roundtable Hold and navigate northwest, just left of the main entrance. Here, you will find the shop, which boasts new quality-of-life features—an unusual delight for FromSoftware fans.
Changing Events
Once you’ve located and interacted with the Collector Signboard, several options will be available to you. Of particular interest is the third option labeled “Conjure a shift in the Earth.”
By selecting this, you’ll be presented with four distinct Shifting Earth events: Crater, Mountaintop, Rotted Woods, and Noklateo. Choose your desired event and confirm your selection by clicking “Yes.”Activating an event will only cost you 1 Sovereign Sigil, a small price given that defeating the Gaping Jaw boss rewards you with 25 Sigils initially. After your selection, return to the Roundtable Hold expedition room to see your newly chosen event ready for exploration.
Once the shop is unlocked, you can easily return there by accessing the map and scrolling to the Collector Signboard option.
Keep in mind that the bounty of Sovereign Sigils comes solely from your first defeat of the updated Gaping Jaw. Subsequent victories yield fewer sigils, so use them judiciously.
Removing Events
If you find yourself without any sigils and wish to negate an active Shifting Earth event, it can be done easily by visiting the room south of the Journal. Standing next to the bed allows you to “Pass Time.” This action will effectively remove the currently active event.
This mechanic proves especially useful for events such as Noklateo, which alters significant landscape features, like the central castle, ultimately impacting your strategy.
However, be cautious, Nightfarer—don’t linger too long! The world of Elden Ring is full of challenges, and from the sounds of FromSoftware’s ongoing boss rotation, opportunities to defeat them may be fleeting!
