Atlus has recently seen a surge in popularity for their latest JRPG, Metaphor ReFantazio. This captivating game is available across multiple platforms including PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X and S. Set in the imaginative realm of Euchronia, a fictional United Kingdom, it offers players a richly crafted campaign mode as well as a plethora of side activities such as quests, optional dungeons, and epic boss encounters.

  • Storyteller: Tailored for those who wish to immerse themselves in the narrative. Combat encounters allow no chance of defeat. This setting is locked.
  • Easy: Ideal for players preferring a smooth and swift gameplay experience. This setting is adjustable.
  • Normal: The default difficulty level that offers a balance of exhilaration and challenge. This setting is adjustable.
  • Hard: Designed for those seeking thrilling and intense confrontations. This setting is adjustable.
  • Regicide: This is the most demanding mode, perfect for seasoned players ready for extreme challenges. This setting is locked.

At the beginning of the game, players can select from all difficulty modes except for Regicide. As previously mentioned, if players opt for Storyteller or Regicide modes, they cannot adjust the difficulty later. However, for all other settings, changes can be made during gameplay by following these steps:

  • Pause the game.
  • Access Settings, then go to System Settings.
  • Scroll until you find the Change Difficulty option. Select it and adjust the difficulty to your preferred level.

How to Access Regicide Difficulty in Metaphor ReFantazio

Regicide presents the most formidable challenge in Metaphor ReFantazio, and unlocking this mode requires certain conditions to be fulfilled. First, you must complete the game at least once on a lower difficulty setting. Secondly, ensure that the ending you achieve is the true ending, rather than one of the three unfavorable outcomes.
