Mages has officially unveiled their upcoming game titled The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and the Magic Academy, a new dungeon crawler RPG based on the immensely popular series, The Quintessential Quintuplets. Scheduled to launch in Japan on September 18, 2025, this title will be available on PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Game Features and Setting

Set within a captivating magic academy, players will follow the adventures of the Nakano quintuplets as they interact with protagonist Futaro Uesugi. The gameplay promises an engaging mix of visual novel elements combined with exploration and combat mechanics. Players will take on the role of Futaro, tasked with equipping the Nakano sisters with essential gear and magical abilities to successfully complete various quests within the game world.

Teaser and Development Background

The anticipation for this title has been building since a teaser was released on May 1, 2025, leading up to the official announcement coinciding with the birthdays of the Nakano sisters on May 5, 2025. Mages has previously developed several visual novels related to the franchise, such as Memories of a Quintessential Summer and Five Memories Spent with You. The latest addition to the series, Five Promises Made with Her, has not yet been localized for international audiences, although other titles have successfully debuted outside Japan.
