Delta Force Guide: Acquiring the SR9 Marksman Rifle

The SR9, a newly introduced weapon in the “Starfall”season of Delta Force, may not initially impress, yet it stands as a reliable option for players engaging in a designated marksman role. It’s particularly effective in mid-to-long-range engagements, but first, players must unlock this weapon to utilize its capabilities.
Acquiring the SR9 differs from the conventional weapon unlocks in Delta Force. While it’s not particularly challenging, the process employs a new unlock system reminiscent of mechanics found in various multiplayer first-person shooters. Below, we outline the steps to unlocking the SR9.
Unlocking the SR9 in Delta Force
The SR9 is unique in being the first weapon locked behind the Armory in Warfare mode, a system strikingly akin to the Armory feature in MW3. To gain access to this weapon, players must accomplish one key task: secure 30 kills using Marksman Rifles. Upon achieving this kill count, the SR9 will unlock automatically for the Recon class.
Moreover, the Armory in Delta Force offers unlockable attachments for various weapons, such as sights, charging handles, and magazines. With future updates, players can anticipate additional weapon options to be added to the Armory unlocks.
Evaluating the SR9’s Performance
In terms of performance, the SR9 falls within the realm of decent but not exceptional. Unmodified, its time-to-kill (TTK) is approximately 0.5 seconds with a maximum effective distance of 90 meters. When fully outfitted for improved range utilizing the Resonant Sniper Rifle Suppressor, it can eliminate targets in 0.6 seconds from distances up to 130 meters—but only with three body shots. Remarkably, this TTK can be reduced to 0.33 seconds by landing two headshots, albeit this is a challenging feat against mobile opponents.
A noteworthy feature of the SR9 is its dedicated Trigger attachment slot, which allows for the installation of a Precision Trigger—boosting the rifle’s modest rate of fire from 261 RPM to 307 RPM. While this enhancement narrows the TTK gap to 0.44 seconds, it still does not place the SR9 in a superior position, especially when compared to the faster-firing SR-25, which operates at 364 RPM and deals similar damage.
In general, the SR9 shows similar performance levels when compared to the PSG-1, including attachment options. Both rifles display a comparable recoil pattern; however, the PSG-1 has a definitive edge due to its greater number of attachment slots. It’s worth noting that the SR9’s stock is non-removable and does not qualify for the calibration feature provided within Delta Force.
