Defeating Fulghor, Champion Of Nightglow in Elden Ring Nightreign

In the challenging world of Elden Ring: Nightreign, players encounter formidable bosses known as Nightlords, each presenting unique challenges. Among these, Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, is an exceptional trial for any warrior. This formidable centaur boss, found at the conclusion of the Darkdrift Knight expedition, is widely recognized for his aggressive combat style and punishing Area of Effect (AOE) attacks, especially in his second phase.
Fellow Nightfarers, prepare for an in-depth guide where I’ll discuss effective strategies, optimal team compositions, and Fulghor’s weaknesses—essential knowledge for anyone eager to emerge victorious against this fearsome foe.
Optimal Team Composition
While it’s always possible to select any character you are comfortable with, having a well-rounded team for this encounter can significantly enhance your chances of success. After countless hours battling Fulghor, I can attest to the effectiveness of specific character combinations.
- Raider: His damage-negating skill is invaluable against this aggressive Nightlord. Raider can not only absorb attacks but also deliver powerful strikes with strength weapons. His Ultimate Art boosts the entire team’s attack power, making him a critical asset in this fight.
- Wylder: Known as the ‘Jack of Trades’, Wylder excels in staggering Fulghor when paired with Raider. His versatile Lightning weapons effectively target Fulghor’s weaknesses. Additionally, his Ultimate Art can immobilize some of Fulghor’s most dangerous attacks, turning the tide in your favor.
- Ironeye: A vital ranged character, Ironeye ensures you can draw aggro away from teammates while delivering damage from a distance. His Marking Shot skill synergizes well with melee attacks, providing opportunities to stun Fulghor briefly. Like Wylder, Ironeye’s Ultimate Art can also interrupt critical attacks.
If you prefer, consider replacing one of the melee characters with an Executor. This swap can enhance your team’s ability to inflict bleed damage on Fulghor and provide invaluable support during intense moments.
Understanding Weaknesses and Preparation
Knowledge of Fulghor’s weaknesses is instrumental to your victory. Specifically, this Nightlord is particularly vulnerable to Lightning attacks, making it essential to arm yourself accordingly.
Throughout your adventure, you’ll find various lightning-related weapons and grease items that can exploit this weakness effectively. If your team comprises Wylder and Raider, you’ll have access to an array of potent melee options enhanced by their Lightning capabilities.
Ironeye may face some limitations with ranged Lightning options, but bringing along a few Lightning greases can compensate for this. However, it’s advisable to avoid Holy weapons, as Fulghor has a resistance to that affinity. Instead, consider weapons or strategies that can apply status ailments such as Scarlet Rot, Poison, or Frostbite, which can prove advantageous.
Additionally, I recommend ensuring your character is at least level 12 before attempting this fight, as Fulghor’s attacks hit hard. Every ounce of damage you can inflict will be crucial in staggering him, making the battle more manageable.
Strategies for Defeating Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow
Before engaging in battle, understanding Fulghor’s moveset is essential for survival. Below is a breakdown of his key attacks:
Moveset Description Lance Side Sweep Fulghor will charge at you, delivering a sweeping lance attack that is easy to dodge. Lance Ground Sweep This attack involves multiple variations where a shockwave is sent toward you, which can be evaded with timing. Lance Thrust Occasionally, Fulghor will thrust his lance, a maneuver that is quite easy to avoid. Golden Charge One of his deadliest attacks, Fulghor charges forward, leaving a trail that explodes; this is done three times before a final explosive attack. Diving Slam and Quick Slam Fulghor performs two types of AOE attacks: a diving slam and a quick ground pound, both of which have telegraphed animations. Golden Lance Slam This charge-up attack slams his lance into the ground, causing nearby players to be slowed, with gold lances erupting from below. Nightglow Aerial Strike In his second phase, Fulghor leaps into the air to execute a powerful slam. Nightglow Claw Sweeps and Slams Fulghor employs his claw to sweep and slam across the battlefield, inflicting damage with dark poison.First Phase Tactics
If you are working with the suggested team composition, focus on maximizing damage output during the initial phase. It is crucial for Wylder and Raider to dodge Fulghor’s predictable attacks while dealing consistent damage.
Ironeye should prioritize applying the weakening mark whenever possible. With the potent strikes from Raider and Wylder, this mark will trigger, temporarily stunning Fulghor and allowing for increased damage.
Utilizing status effects, specifically Scarlet Rot and Frostbite, during this phase can lead to additional passive damage that will help extend your advantages.
Be prepared, as Fulghor may target Ironeye or any ranged character on your team. Conserve your stamina and remain vigilant against his aggressive attacks. Pay particular attention to the Golden Charge, as evading it successfully is vital to your survival.
Second Phase Strategy
As Fulghor transitions to his second phase, he retains much of his original moveset but introduces the formidable Darkglow claw, creating a new level of challenge. This claw, reminiscent of some classic boss transformations, adds complexity to his attack patterns.
Maintain your previous strategies, but be ready to capitalize on the openings created when Fulghor lands his massive claw attack. Successfully dodging this attack can provide a critical moment to inflict significant damage.
Dodging his erratic sweeping attacks necessitates skill and patience. If the aggro is maintained on another character, use this opportunity to unleash your Ultimate Arts and maximize damage output. With proper preparation and focus on exploiting Fulghor’s Lightning weakness, you can quickly stagger even this fearsome Nightlord.
