Alongside this announcement, Kojima showcased the impressive Collector’s Edition and revealed that gamers can begin preordering the title on March 17 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

Set in the aftermath of the original Death Stranding narrative, players will reunite with familiar faces, including Sam Porter Bridges, while new characters will emerge to enrich the story. The game’s PlayStation Store listing, updated in late February, described its innovative gameplay mechanics and narrative focus, emphasizing the return of the Social Strand system which enhances player agency through dynamic encounters with adversaries. This sequel promises to expand upon the game’s exploration of human connections within a ravaged, open world.

For fans eager to experience one of the most anticipated titles scheduled for 2025, the wait is nearing its end. The SXSW panel, which was streamed live on multiple platforms including YouTube and Twitch, featured insights from Kojima along with key contributors like Sony’s Kristen Zitani, celebrated guest composer Woodkid, and voice actors Norman Reedus and Troy Baker. Both actors will reprise their roles as Sam and Higgs, respectively.
