The Kuttenberg Tournament in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an engaging, repeatable side quest featuring intense combat that players can participate in weekly, once the main quest Ars Dimicatoria has been concluded. This thrilling event, organized by the Kuttenberg Brotherhood and overseen by their leader Menhard, allows players the opportunity to showcase their martial skills through a series of formal duels.

Winning the tournament comes with significant rewards, including a bounty of groschen and exclusive equipment, such as weapons and armor. While the rules of the tournament may seem simple, carelessly executed strategies can lead to disqualification, even for those who excel in combat.

How to Begin the Kuttenberg Tournament

After completing Ars Dimicatoria, players can enroll in the tournament by conversing with Menhard, located at the Kuttenberg Swordfighting Guild in the city’s heart. The guild hall is easily identifiable by its prominent yellow and orange flags.

Once you approach Menhard, you will have the option to sign up for one to three events, each incurring an entry fee of 100 groschen. He will also inform you how many in-game days are left until the event begins. This gives you a choice to either wait it out by paying 30 groschen for a brief wait or 100 groschen for a longer one. Opting for the fee will fast-track time and drop you straight into a cutscene at the tournament’s start.

If you prefer a more hands-on approach, use the waiting period to complete side quests or gather valuable loot. However, monitor the in-game date closely to avoid missing your chance to participate in the tournament, especially on hardcore mode where fast travel is disabled.

Keep in mind that certain quests can influence the passage of time significantly, thus making it easy to lose track and miss the tournament. Fortunately, if you do happen to miss it, the Kuttenberg Tournament is a repeatable event that will return the following week.

Claiming Victory in the Tournament

The tournament consists of three duel formats: sword and shield, longsword, and free combat. In each category, Henry must defeat two opponents in a best-of-three structure, culminating in a total of four to six matches per event.

For sword and shield as well as longsword duels, tournament-specific gear will be provided, necessitating that players temporarily store their own equipment. Alternatively, in the free combat category, Henry is free to utilize his personal weapons and armor.

Make sure to visit the armorer to switch your equipment between rounds, as fighting in the wrong gear will result in being accused of theft, incurring a hefty fine of 500 groschen.

During breaks between duels, players can explore the vicinity. This time can be used to repair your gear, utilize alchemy potions for boosts, or even visit a bathhouse for restoration. If you’re feeling devious, consider poisoning your opponent’s drink, available near the warm-up area. Just ensure no one notices your actions as being caught could lead to disqualification.

Always arrive promptly for your scheduled matches, as being late will automatically forfeit your participation in the tournament, regardless of how well you performed previously.

Selecting Your Prize

After successfully triumphing in an event, Henry will be ushered to the rewards area, where three chests await his selection. Each chest corresponds to the type of duel you participated in.To claim your reward, open the chest designated for your event type. This will be clearly labeled to avoid confusion.

Each victory rewards players with 200 groschen, along with a random piece of high-tier equipment. Among the rewards is exclusive gear, such as the highly sought-after Kuttenberg Longsword, available only through tournament victories. This unique gear makes the Kuttenberg Tournament an essential activity for those looking to gather rare items and enhance their combat abilities.
