Dune: Awakening Now Available to All Players Following Successful Head Start Weekend and New Trailer Release

Launch of Dune: Awakening Marks a New Era in Multiplayer Survival Gaming
Funcom’s highly anticipated multiplayer survival game, Dune: Awakening, has officially launched following an impressive head-start weekend. To celebrate this milestone, the studio unveiled a new gameplay trailer that showcases the immersive experience players can expect.
Successful Head-Start Weekend
During its early access phase, Dune: Awakening attracted an impressive peak of over 117, 000 concurrent players, a testament to the game’s magnetism, especially considering this number only reflects pre-orders of the deluxe edition. The game is now accessible to all players who purchase the base version, allowing even more fans to explore the vast desert planet of Arrakis.
New Gameplay Trailer Released
With the full launch, Funcom also released a new trailer that compiles highlights from previous teasers, providing a comprehensive look at what players can anticipate in this expansive multiplayer universe.

Leadership Engagement and Community Feedback
In a message delivered just before the official launch, Funcom’s Chief Executive and Technical Officer, Rui Casais, expressed gratitude towards the community. He acknowledged the invaluable feedback received through social media, Discord, support tickets, and Steam reviews. Casais emphasized that the team is diligently working to resolve any issues players may encounter:
“Believe it or not, we do look at all your feedback across social media, Discord, support tickets, and Steam reviews. And we’re working around the clock to mitigate any issues you find and improve the overall experience.”
Addressing Server Capacity and Queue Times
Recognizing concerns about long queue times, Casais assured players that additional servers will be introduced to accommodate the influx of players during the full launch. The team is committed to ensuring balanced player distribution across servers, stating:
“Worry not, there is enough capacity for all of you.”
Looking Ahead
Despite expressing confidence in the game’s launch trajectory, Casais asked for patience from the community as Funcom navigates the early days of this expansive multiplayer experience:
“Funcom has been making online worlds like this for 25 years, and I have been personally doing it for soon 24, and I can tell you this is my most exciting launch so far. I can’t wait to see more of you enjoying the game, and would ask you to please bear with us, if not everything is silky smooth when we open the game tomorrow. This is only the beginning. We have years’ worth of plans for Dune: Awakening, and I want to once again thank you all for joining us on this journey.”
